Murata has a weird style, he’s not as nuanced as other world level Japanese fighters….speculating here, but I have a feeling this might be due to his size and having a hard time finding quality sparring within Japan growing up (average size there is much smaller).
They import sparring partners for him from other countries, where as all the lower weight classes are loaded with top end talent that’s home grown. Those smaller world level guys all spar each other growing up.
