Quick thoughts on the show.
I don't get the Adam Cole love and tonight was a strong reminder of that. Him and EC3 did the least in that ladder match and outside of slapping his thigh a lot, I can't recall a single spot of offense he did. Then he wins and of course later he defends the tag titles and wins the Dusty Rhodes classic trophy by doing absolutely nothing. Absolutely terrible.
Back to the ladder match, I don't know why people here (or the NXT crowd) seem to dislike Lars Sullivan. Dude is a great monster and once he gets to the main roster doing Braun Strowman type fukkery he will be over as fukk. Velveteen Dream and Ricochet were the heroes of that match though. Their offense is sick but better, they both sell their asses off too.
Women's match was what it was. Ember isn't an interesting face and Shayna not an interesting heel, they were smart to have Ember stomp Shayna's arm and create a dynamic where the heel had to work with a handicap.
Tag match was good but nothing too spectacular. Ending didn't make a lot of sense outside of an excuse to give Cole and the UE more undeserved accolades. At least this looks like AOP will hit the main roster come Monday.
Title match was very good because both Almas and Black work well of others, ironically both miss something to make it to the top.
Gargano/Ciampa was a worthy pay-off to their feud even though I think it was a bit overhyped. They did some great storytelling in the beginning and end but in the middle it turned into an indie spot/kickout fest that went on a tad too long.
I think that's a typical Triple H issue where he believes that a longer match carries more weight (hence why he always books himself in long-ass matches) when sometimes a short match is just better to keep up the energy of the fight and the momentum of the story.
