Tank vs shakur is the mega fight to make. fukk everybody else :yeshrug:....tank is the only guy I see giving Shakur a real 50-50 Fight. Athleticism and speed are about equal. Tank has the power advantage. Shakur has the defensive advantage. It would be a great chess match.

Nobody else has the sharpness or skill to give Shakur problems. I think he would beat haney convincingly too. Haney gets too sloppy at times....starts looping his punches and leaving himself open. Think Shakur could hurt him. Stevenson vs tank is gonna be the new Spence vs Crawford.

You think Ryan Garcia would pose any problems for Shakur? Hand speed, reach, and height?

Any fighter with longer arms and a stiff jab will give Shakur problems. Haney will beat Shakur.

The way Shakur keeps his feet moving, each step with such precision so as to keep himself at just the right distance, all night.

That's a scary fighter dude.
His back foot is a gift from the almighty.:blessed:

Stevenson's so important to boxing right now. He's keeping footwork and skills relevant for the newer generations to learn.

Shakur could have stopped him and did it on the inside. All he had to do was step on the gas, but I know why he didn't. He's a great defensive fighter and they typically teach black fighters that being the best defensive fighter means being on the backfoot but you can be defensively responsible while fighting on the inside and he learning it. The Herring fight he gained a lot of confidence about coming forward and fighting on inside but he still wasn't all the way comfortable. This Oscar Valdez fight gon make him take that next step and truly perfect that inside game. He has all the skills to be the best inside fighter in boxing he just needs that confidence by continuing to do it on fight night. He stopped throwing the jab and began fighting in spurts. The jab opened everything up for him midrange and in close.
Great post.

Agree he can fight inside, but why do it in this fight? Especially not against Valdez, Valdez only hail mary in a fight like this is roughing up and a lucky or dirty shot. He was able to nullify Valdez right hand by the methods he employed.

Agree re jab. Kambosos not anywhere near Stevenson level but same thing happened against Lopez when he stopped setting up with the jab.

Ryan is too flat footed. He has less boxing skills than Valdez. Shakur would pick him apart. Although I will say Shakur was getting caught with more right hands than he should have tonight. And some of the body shots seemed to slow him down for a bit. It's gonna be interesting to see how he handles the size and power at 135. But he looked big as fukk tonight:dame:

Would love to see him fight loma next. Think that's the perfect fight for both of them right now. Feel like they were always destined to
fight.

Where you get this from, sound like some youtube cac nonsense, first being defensive has nothing to do with being on the back foot you have to be defensive in all positions

Shakur one the back foot because Valdez has the Earmuffs on trying to close the distance so he is in range for his punches

Shakur has to step back to create space for his punches, he's the longer fighter

this notion that moving back is some kind forum of retreat, it's just ignorance, they are in the ring there's nowhere to run, nowhere to go, if you need to create space for punches you step back, otherwise they will get smothered, and you won't get full extension

there's all different types of black fighter, james toney had less foot movement than Canelo all his defense was upperbody and fought in a phone booth

Andre Ward, Hopkins, they didn't fight like that either, Pernal Whitaker like the only one who's main defensive was moving around

Even today's black fighters, Andrade, Charlo, Spence, Boots, Crawford, Tank, and even Haney do not fight like that and they all have great defense

you can't knock everybody out, he didn't knock him out because he just didn't knock him out, Valdez was able to survive

Are you fukking mental?

He wouldn't even squash a fukking grape?

Mark these words, Garcia will never fight Stevenson because he knows he can't ever get to that kind of level.

Punching aint shyt. We just saw a puncher have their manhood stripped from them. Valdez will never come back from that.

Closest thing to Floyd and could be better one day... defense is superb. You could see Valdez getting frustrated because he couldnt land clean shots and Shakur was hitting him whenever he wanted. Just like watching a Floyd fight. Dudes come in with the game plan of being aggressive and Shakur is standing toe to toe in your face and you cant touch him. No clean shots. And he is making you pay everytime. You give up. You could see it when Floyd fought and you can see it in Shakur fights...
