I'm not really tripping off the power because I knew Ryan had it. And it's not even that Devin got hit with it, it's that he couldn't not get hit with it. I understand the first shot rocked him, but in the rounds he was winning it seemed like he had recovered enough to dictate things. But then he had so many defensive lapses that had him getting tagged super flush. Now, after he was getting dropped the dam just burst, but aside from that, I'm just not used to seeing dude just standing there to be hit and being that sloppy with his exits.
I don’t think it was the stage, or at least it wasn’t until the stage started swallowing him up when he hit the canvas.

Devin certainly seemed to abandon some of his trademarks (the deft counter, the pull counter, the crouch jab as he shifts backwards and then pivots at the rope to score or clinch).

I agree, I was not expecting him to get hit in the manner he often did, looking stunned, less defensively aware, and increasingly bereft of lateral or effective backwards step.

Devin really underestimated Ryan and thought he could just walk him down.:wow:

I don't think it was too big a stage, he simply didn't consider anything other than coming out with a W. He was riding the high of beating Loma and Regis back to back, and thought Ryan was damn near out the sport.:wow:

This is it. He started abandoning the jab after he buckled Ryan with that left hook from there. He wasn’t wrong in coming forward in rounds 2-6 but he didn’t realize Ryan was rocking em to sleep letting em get cocky

Tank Davis happy as motherfukker on social media Haney lost..lol. Talking about celebrating with Ryan and buying drinks for the whole club....you wolkd think he just hit the $500 million lottery. This will probably be Canelo's reaction if Bivol outboxes Benavidez for 12 rounds or Beterbiev knocks him out later this year.

A fighter would have to threaten to cancel if Ryan don't come in on weight, because Ryan has enough money where a fine is not a deterrent.

However the thing is Ryan is the A side to most fights and is a money fight, so if fighter cancels they could pass up on a big payday

You have to make the fine so large in the contract that it deters him from doing it.

I can gurantee you, if Haney had Al Haymon and Leonard Ellerbe in his corner, this wouldn't have gone down the way it did. Devin's team just isn't that great despite how well Bill has managed his career thus far.

Even this fight being staged in Brooklyn was a mistake.

see my earlier post.

the 143 was done intentionally. Sub 143 they would have force him to lose weight and a certain % over 143 fight would have been canceled. The fine/Bet being public was pretty much Ryan saying "got em"

Yup I was just watching this video last night.

I'm not even mad at Ryan, he learned from the Tank fight and with Devin being a weight bully his whole career (just doing so legally), he got what was coming to him.

Man this why I always supported Haney but said Shakur is way better. Can you imagine Shakur getting hit with that left over and over without defensive adjustments?

Yeah this was a humbling Devin needed and hopefully he learns from.

Trying to have a fire fight when you have no fire, being so blinded you fall into Ryans trap, etc lol

nikkas hate on Tank but literally afterwards we see lotta stuff start making more sense

The fight should have been on the west coast

Do you think haney will fight this year? December the latest?
Definitely should take time off like Spence is. It's been about 10 months and he still doesn't have a fight scheduled. I think that's what he needs.

Ryan, Regis, Loma and Kambosos twice in less than 2 years. Those weren't the easiest fights either. Dude needs a rest.

Still young in comparison to Spence, so coming back at 27 fresh would be a great next run.
