Entirely. As in - not even "semi" independant like a lot of these labels where they get funding and publishing resources from the massive labels.(E.g. Warner Bros -> MMG, there's loads of examples).
He's out the mud and he only has his own money pupming into it, he didn't get any help from a major label at all.
