you know anyone in college? Microsoft is running that buy a PC and get a free 360 deal again for students. Ends September 8th.Gears 3 and VF5FS are the only games I played on that console for the past 2 months. I used it for streaming only before VF5FS came out earlier this month
And since VF5FS dropped everything else has been thrown in the bushes, and I don't need an Xbox to play that either.
That's why I'm not really tripping over this. If I can find a deal then I'll bite.

I doubt it. I heard Microsoft rejected Motorola's initial settlement offer. If Microsoft gets threatened with a ban, they'll definitely fold and agree to it.

So I revisited the idea of replacing my Xbox since PSN is fukking up (specifically for VF5 which I also have on 360) and I miss having the apps on my TV down in the man cave.
I really only wanted to blow like 150 on this. I'm looking at Amazon, they have the new model used for 130. But why do the damn harddrives cost so damn much?
120 for the damn 320GB HDD.
What's the cheapest HDD they make for the new system?

I have the old ass shyt, don't even have an HDMI slot on this thing, no built in wifi, none of that. I'll pay a little extra to get the slim, and not worry about it breaking on me again. And I stopped into a repair shop not too long ago and these fukks were saying it might run them anywhere between 50 to 100 dollars to fix, I heard that and walked out.

I'm going to buy a Slim today, fukk it.
My biggest grip was being forced to cop a damn HDD for it on top of replacing it. Now that I see how to just use the HDD that I have on the Slim, I'm good to go.

My 20gig, OG 360 actually died a couple weeks ago, but it's been complete trash for like the past year and a half.
I'm actually going to buy a completely new slim in a couple of weeks....
Buying a console new this late in the game isn't terrible if you have a huge backlog. I've missed out on Gears 3, Halo Reach, Skyrim, Deus Ex, Mass Effect 3, Portal 2, Darkness 2, Soulcalibur 5, A TON of XBLA games, and many other games that I wanted to play because the thing would barely run anything. It's actually not a bad situation, as all of those games are cheaper now than they were before.
Yeah, the new one may come out next year...but is anyone really going to be dumb enough to buy consoles at launch again? I'ma eat off my backlog for a year or two, than after a pricedrop (And knowing MSFT, probably console revisions), I'll have another backlog built up for the 720 and I'll be able to come in and
cheaply again. Not to mention I'll be aware of any fukking issues with the hardware. Never buying another MSFT console new again. I've been a loyal xbot but the 360 debacle was damn robbery.
The only thing I'm worried about is MSFT taking away Netflix when the new one drops. If they make it so that you need the 720 for things like netflix/espn/all that other stuff I'ma be pissed.
