This IDEA of black ppl strictly supporting black businesses and the CONCEPT of circulating our money and keeping it within our community must become widespread and ingrained into the mind's of every black person 1st. It must become the new "cool". The concept itself is lost upon most of us, let alone actually practicing it. Cuz lord knows that we are programmed rite now to spend, spend, spend and extreme materialism is HEAVILY promoted and glamourized in the black community. BUT all of this comes back full-circle to having a high level of "black pride" and knowledge of the past. All of these things go hand in hand. Black people aren't just gonna up and start practicing group economics unless a mass resurgence in "black pride" and "black love" comes about. It starts with us seeing value in ourselves and wanting to unite for the greater good of the black community. I feel this happening now. Ive had more talks with random strangers in real life about race/racism in the last 6months than i probably have my whole life. The Coli is reflective of this also with the increased race related threads.

Im just glad im seeing more and more threads like these thoShows me that we are "waking up" as a people. I just hope this aint moved to The Root
