Still hurts. Dying after Reggie Lewis fukked me up for a bit because it came out of nowhere. The Nets upside was limitless until his death.

Him and Reggie Lewis went that same summer within a month or two of each other. I was young at the time and couldn't really make sense of it or grasp how unreal it was to happen like that.

And only seven years earlier Len Bias OD'd. Three terrific talents, gone just like that.

Ricky Berry commiting that in '89:snoop: Crazy thing, Keegan Murray reminds me a LOT of him .
I doubt Portland knew how good he was either. They were set in their starting backcourt with Drexler & Porter, with veteran Ainge still a solid bench player.

The Blazers had bad luck in not being able to get Sabonis. The Soviets ran Sabonis to the ground, just like China ran Yao to the ground.

Portland should have had at least one post-Walton title. In the late 80s/early 90s, or in 2000.

Portland should've won in '91. Started 19-1. Choked in that conference finals against the Lakers . Team was better than their '92 team that went to the Finals .

Drazen is Croatian, and Croatians don’t like Jokic who is Serbian.

‘Once Brothers’ is still one of my favorite 30 for 30 docs.
Yes, great film, specially because scripted by Americans...

Dražen mostly played for Yugoslavia, only since 1992 Olympics he played for Croatia.
Older generations in Serbia still remember him from those days...

Nowadays even a lot of people from Croatia like Jokić, since the relationships improved significantly (mostly because of Ðoković and a musician called Konstrakta, they are adored in Croatia), but they don't watch basketball so much like during Dražen era... They are more into soccer and handball now...

That was what I remember. Think the homie Pete Vecsey alluded to that in one of his subsequent columns in the NY Post after Draz passed. In fact I think I remember reading somewhere years ago that it was just about a wrap.
