The "skill gap" was in looking up every other day what the latest broken gun was and leveling that up as fast as possible.
Slide canceling and camera breaking wasn't the skill gap breh.
I just think it's weird to equate skill with insanely fast movement, atrocious weapon balancing, absurd amounts of cash everywhere, rushing buy stations, spamming UAV's and kill streaks, heart beat sensors, one shot kills with an incredibly forgiving hit box and aim assist, fire sales exacerbating all the issues inherent with the buy station system, paid skins that gave players an advantage over others, and I'm sure I'm missing a few more things.
I'm not debating whether or not it was fun.
I just disagree with this narrative that 2.0 is catering to "lower skilled players" by removing or at least taking steps to reign in all the things I listed above.
2.0 is forcing you to slow down and strategically move around the map. Sure campers are going to a bit more of an issue (just like they are in PUBG which barely gives you any incentive to move around their map at all) but again, it's something to keep in mind when you're trying to tactical sprint, slide cancel, bunny hop, every freakin corner.
The games are fun. I'm not trying to defend the game as perfect. Again, I just disagree that the game is catering to low skill.
