How do you feel this "last chance" should play out?

And honestly I don't recall him really pandering to the crowd in promo really. It's always came off really defiant.

Like I said, I'd have him lose this Sunday but have him lose strong and get a beating with loads and loads of blood everywhere. The beating that Undertaker/Cena got would seem like a tussle. Then he comes back like at the end of the year with a real chip on his shoulder. Just fukking people up while honing his promo and wrestling skills along the way. I feel like (hopefully) Rusev will be main event material. That'd be his first feud right there. Pretty much just running through people on his way to Brock.

Making him lose this year is a gamble, but so is having him win.

Pretty much. He could use it. I mean you run the risk of people not caring about him upon return but I feel like there are more people that want too root for him and hate his booking than there are people who genuinely don't like him.
