fundamentals will take you far in a war
Ortiz always maintained, high guard always
Ortiz always maintained, high guard always
a nikka with fast hands and feet..oscar prolly wants to avoid that..although ortiz did beat someone similar to ellis in solomon somewhat..but that was old solomonWild that Rashidi Ellis can't even get a mention as a possible opponent for Ortiz when they with the same promoter/network
Ortiz obviously got hands, and he seems to have the Mexican toughness package. He’s not an easy win for any of the top guys. Ortiz would stop Ugas.
I actually saw a lot from Ortiz tonight. Yeah he took some light punishment early, but he was starting to catch Hooker between his punches and was slipping a lot of punches coming forward. Not to mention he kept cutting him off into the ropes. He made a lot of adjustments, I saw really good boxing ability tonight against an experienced fighter. He really isn't that far away if at all from fighting champions bruh.
He also keeps his head off a straight line with upper body head movements. He’s not some Antonio Margarito dude. He’s has a high boxing acumen. He should fight behind/off his power jab more, but dude is clearly a beast. Tired of boxing being the only sport where you gotta be 28 before you’re “ready.”
Yup, stylistically he would give Crawford issues as much as nikkas don't want to admit it. Crawford is a mid range fighter just like Hooker, and Crawford is a hooker he doesn't live behind his jab either, and he loves to stand and box with you he doesn't like to move if he doesn't have to especially backwards. Crawford would rightfully be the favorite because he is the more seasoned fighter, but I don't think Crawford would wash him at all, he would have to earn that win. There is a reason they chose this opponent for Ortiz, Oscar and them learned from Bob how to build a fighter up, they know what they are doing.
I'm looking towards Crawford's feints as being the key to upsetting Ortiz's power, and I'm also curious to see just how big of a welterweight Ortiz truly is. I know he's got power, but I'm not convinced he's got the size to outright bully the opposition at 47, and expect Crawford to engage in a lot of clinching/wrestling early.
The fight is intriguing because of Crawford's willingness to trade, and his questionable chin, but I'd bet on Crawford being great that night.
Ortiz took a lot of punishment against a game, but ultimately overmatched Hooker. What happens when he's facing a fighter with greater pop than Hooker, and a fighter who has the IQ to not let you off the hook when you're trying to take rounds off?
We finally get to see Crawford against a pressure fighter with pop, too. Golden Boy might've just thrown Arum and Crawford a lifesaver by hyping a fight with Ortiz.
Yeah I wouldn’t say he “ruins” Ortiz but he ain’t ready and I don’t see him beating Crawford is too crafty and would probably figure him out after 3-4 rounds. And either cruises to a UD or gets Ortiz out late. That defense has a lot to be desired and he gets hit way too much for my liking.so bud would ruin ortiz?
