That’s not the point. He still has a really good strong jab. The fact was he was vulnerable to it along with lounging forward where he kept getting uppercutted. Charlo got way more than a jab in comparison to Harrison anyway

Not when they fought :umad:

Good fights overall but Tony definitely not the same fighter. Movement, reflexes and punch output. So it's probably best to fall back now. Cause I don't see him beating the best at 154 or at 160 now. He is a great trainer though, can still do his thing in that lane with Alycia and other young talent.

Nothing to be ashamed of, he won a world title and probably overachieved in that regard.

Tszyu is strong but I think Charlo movement and activity and punching power will be too much for him. Tony punch resistance not the same and it wasn't the greatest before. Charlo has an iron chin. So he will be up for the challenge. Look forward to seeing the fight though.

I'm far from a boxing expert. But what's up with fighters not tying up when they get in trouble? Floyd would always tie up when he got in any kind of trouble. I know it's more nuanced than I'm making it seem but it's just something I've noticed

because floyd prolly practice doing it in sparring..some fighters think they dont need to know to do it and/or its simply not in their mechanics due to their style of fighting...tony's defense has never been great in the first place..tony used to get these guys outta there..he was a puncher..when he switched to a more boxer/puncher style he prolly never corrected some of those defensive flaws..and you get this

If you think you're lonely now, ohhh girl...
Tony Harrison brother/trainer telling him to hang it up

Man, it’s really wild how today’s boxers act like they have an unlimited earning window. The reality is as a fighter you have a very finite amount of time to secure as many BIG paydays/fights as possible. I mean, Tony is YOUNGER than Spence and already looking at retirement. These new dudes act like they have forever, but it’s going to be a shock for a lot of them how fast the window closes. :wow:

Def underestimated Tszyu. Thought even in a loss Harrison would be able to box him up and probably hurt him before wearing down eventually. Harrison snapped his head back a couple times with jabs but never really bothered Tszyu or disrupt him from pressing forward for the most part

Tony had absolutely no pop and Tszyu kinda figured that hat out by the 3rd round and just started walking him down.

Underrated post.

He used to have pop, but recent Tony is all timing on both sides of his bop. Nice with it. But that's all he's had the last while. I was hoping it would be a win for the fighters that have had to grind it out to get to the top, and a win for the sweet science.

Tony was nice in the middle rounds, Tsyzu will get dissected by someone one of these days. He has had a short list of bums and recently damaged contenders on his short ascent. His team/no limit promo have engineered it perfectly. But he got the elevator.
