I'd skip 2k13 and get 2k11 or 2k12.

I play strictly with oldschool teams because modern teams bore me.....2k11 holds a special place in my heart because of the Jordan Challenges....I was hoping 2k12 would build on that but it didnt, theres no challenges outside of beat the other team. 2k12 has more classic teams tho.

2k13 has all the classic teams from both games except without most of the star players...fuk I'm gonna do with a 83' sixers without Julius Irving?

I went on and got 2k11 soon as I left work the jordan challenges won me over

They tried to make it too realistic this yr

Its damn near impossible to block a dunk :pachaha:

Damn near? My ninja it IS impossible to block dunks. The only way a dunk will be unsuccessful is if the ball rims out when they try to slam it, but other than that, regardless of who it is, if the person goes up for a dunk, they're finishing that shyt.

Here's where 2KSports also fukked up with 2K13.

-Getting blocked on pump fakes

-Defensive AI & defensive rotations are both abysmal. The awareness is at an all time low and even if you switch to an offball defender to challenge a player driving to the hoop, the dudes don't even turn around sometimes.

-Late responses to button presses. Happens offline a little, but it's glaringly obvious online. A game changer

-Coach logic in MyCareer/MyPlayer is pretty bad. I'm dropping Triple Doubles only to see my minutes DIMINISH afterwards. It's like triple doubles are a negative this year.

-Settings not saving. Have to reset the playvision-full setting before every MyCareer match, and after MyTeam matches, all my user profile settings reset to default, as well as my menu music volume going down to 0 :what:

-One of the biggest problems, the offensive rebounding. Holy shyt brehs, 2KSports developers must think that one person can snag a board from a crowd of 3 on the regular. Boxing out is minimally effective.

-Fullcourt passing is far too successful. This is a testament to how 2KSports wants to suddenly cater to the casual gamer more than anything. Yeah Wade threw a long pass to LeBron in a game before, but that doesn't mean that Udonis Haslem should be able to lob passes over my defenders' heads from his end of the court. These guys are completing crisp ass passes from underneath their own basket and the person catching the ball doesn't even fukking bobble it.

Gameplay is cool this year, I'm feeling it more than 2K12, but these minor things are grouped together to deliver that major negative feel. I really hope a patch addresses a lot, if not all of these issues.

they still need a legit tutorial/training mode, don't know why they can't make one with a game this complicated

Training camp goes hard.

I recommend playin through the Shots, Iso Moves, Post Moves, and Defensive training camps.

And if you play my player mode get on that offball shyt. You can juke around with the stick.. i think thats dope.

I agree with not being able to block a dunk bein weak as fukk though.

I'm more of a defensive player.. Now when someone is drivin at me i have to reach and steal that shyt. I remember in 2k11 I could run up behind someone and swat dunks with perfection.

I could understand if I can't do that shyt with a PG anymore... But if im Dwight Howard and can't block a dunk head on thats fukked up.

You guys are wylin...this is the beat basketball game ever. Although I agree the game plays pretty shytty online control wise....which has ALWAYS been the case if you ask me anyway.... some of you guys seem like you are completely oblivious to sliders and what they can do to the gameplay of this game. They pretty much solve 98% of the shyt I'm hearing people complain about in here. The blocks...the post defense...defensive rotations...passing...etc.

I have tweaked some very nice sliders from some preset joints I got from somebody on here and the game plays the most realistic game of ball I ever played and its fun as hell! The CPU plays lovely after the sliders as well...to the point I have no desire to even play online anymore with the shytty lag...and that's never been a option in my mind with any other 2k game ever for me...I usually always spend 99% of my time online but this year I've been playing like 3 CPU offline games a day.

When I get some free time I will try and post my sliders... you can't 2k share them anymore so its gonna take more time for me to take screen shots of them instead of typing all that shyt out which I refuse to do.

Are far as the new controls...I'm convinced most of you complaining havnt took a legit amount of time learning how to do everything and playing a lot to get naturally accustomed to them...once you do...you will realize dribbling this year is the most responsive its been since like 2k8.

God damn you hit the major problems I have with this game dead on. Especially the lack of responsiveness on defense when switching players. I could handle the bad AI of my teammates if I had that responsiveness when switching between players.

I agree fully on defense too. I usually build my teams around shot blocking on the inside and playing tight defense on the perimeter. Now if a player gets into the lane they'll shoot over or around shot blockers like it's nothing.

Trying to stop players underneath the basket is ridiculous... I mean the ball goes out of bounds near the basket... no problem, position your big man underneath the basket, pass to him and dunk. That play is damn near impossible to stop.

I think I like 2k12 better :ld:

Ay brehs lemme get an opinion. I havent bought a bball game since like nba live 08. I can get nba 2k11 or 12 for 15.00 or 2k13 for reg price I dont really care abt rosters bc I just do franchise mode. Which is better?

If u dint care about rosters, get 2k11. Best bball game ever. 2k12 is kinda :trash:
