I'd skip 2k13 and get 2k11 or 2k12.
I play strictly with oldschool teams because modern teams bore me.....2k11 holds a special place in my heart because of the Jordan Challenges....I was hoping 2k12 would build on that but it didnt, theres no challenges outside of beat the other team. 2k12 has more classic teams tho.
2k13 has all the classic teams from both games except without most of the star players...fuk I'm gonna do with a 83' sixers without Julius Irving?
They tried to make it too realistic this yr
Its damn near impossible to block a dunk
they still need a legit tutorial/training mode, don't know why they can't make one with a game this complicated
Damn near? My ninja it IS impossible to block dunks. The only way a dunk will be unsuccessful is if the ball rims out when they try to slam it, but other than that, regardless of who it is, if the person goes up for a dunk, they're finishing that shyt.
Here's where 2KSports also fukked up with 2K13.
-Getting blocked on pump fakes
-Defensive AI & defensive rotations are both abysmal. The awareness is at an all time low and even if you switch to an offball defender to challenge a player driving to the hoop, the dudes don't even turn around sometimes.
-Late responses to button presses. Happens offline a little, but it's glaringly obvious online. A game changer
-Coach logic in MyCareer/MyPlayer is pretty bad. I'm dropping Triple Doubles only to see my minutes DIMINISH afterwards. It's like triple doubles are a negative this year.
-Settings not saving. Have to reset the playvision-full setting before every MyCareer match, and after MyTeam matches, all my user profile settings reset to default, as well as my menu music volume going down to 0
-One of the biggest problems, the offensive rebounding. Holy shyt brehs, 2KSports developers must think that one person can snag a board from a crowd of 3 on the regular. Boxing out is minimally effective.
-Fullcourt passing is far too successful. This is a testament to how 2KSports wants to suddenly cater to the casual gamer more than anything. Yeah Wade threw a long pass to LeBron in a game before, but that doesn't mean that Udonis Haslem should be able to lob passes over my defenders' heads from his end of the court. These guys are completing crisp ass passes from underneath their own basket and the person catching the ball doesn't even fukking bobble it.
Gameplay is cool this year, I'm feeling it more than 2K12, but these minor things are grouped together to deliver that major negative feel. I really hope a patch addresses a lot, if not all of these issues.
