I like it cause i don't know how to make an orchestra myself on a computer.
I can't sing and would def not sound like a Soul singer from the 70's which i can sample.
Drums i always use single hit samples (no loops) cause VSTi's don't sound as sharp and hard hitting to me.

I just feel like they're so limiting to my imagination :scust:

and if someone finds the same Loop pack or the same sample that you used, the beats will sound similar

and I dont want my shyt to sound like anybody's :scust:

i prefer to use VSTs to compose my own guitars, strings, drums, etc.

I'm opening to exploring using loops and samples tho, but i just need to know how do yall feel about them and why do you like them?
U can flip a sample so many different ways bro.... I can flip and sample a u won't even recognize the original track b

breh, there's so many dope free orchestra vsts out there that give a good ensemble sound, and the 70s singer part I understand

the coldest sample flip I ever heard was Havoc when he produced Survival of the Fittest. nikka made a classic track from a 5 five second piano sample :wow:

Bro u should Google some sampled records and listen to the Og....especially from dudes like alc and jus....they flip samples so crazy

I use samples because I can't compose in the normal sense of the word and I don't have the time to invest in exploring and learning to do that. Samples though can be as equally challenging, a good example of this is when we had the sample battles.
We had to turn this into something dope......

Now this shyt was real challenge and forces you to use your imagination...... here was the result....

I like to sample cuz its like you're catching a moment in time with whatever you're sampling..Plus its the essence of hip hop, I don't think you can capture that essence without sampling. Non sampled hip hop is never really soulful or funky

once you start playing with chops and fukk with the speed/pitch, you open up to way more than a generic keyboard sound could ever give you. sampling is like every form of music in every style being at yiur fingertips. producers sampled longer breaks back in the day because thats what was available technology wise. i hope heads are doing both in 2015 because it is a STAPLE of hip hop. thats why hip hop is a american phenomenom in teh first place. shyt literally brings everyone together. keep trying when you find your sweet spot you got it

this is all sampled and i used a few pure loops in there. but sometimes there backwards ot a random part of a song. something that sets the song up. some you couldnt sample unless you chopped 17 different pieces of a track. i used to go real hard on my sampling. im falling off.i also blend synth tho thats essential in its own right.

i post this too much but fukk it, i love this shyt when im on my game
