My family was apart of the first resurrection (apart of the NOI when Elijah was alive) out of Temple #25 (now known as Masjid Ali Muslim) here in Newark. My uncle was a Supreme Captain and pops was a Student Minister under Minister James Shabazz. Then they made the transition when Elijah's son Imam Warith Deen Mohammed took over. There are a lot of info that I'm privy to about Farad, Elijah, Malclom. When Imam Mohammed was living, I had a chance to build with him on a few occasions.
Most of this isn't news. Malcolm always admitted he got his views from Elijah Muhammad. So much so that he would always preface his comments with "The Honorable Elijah Muhammad teaches..." It got to the point where when Alex Haley was doing the biography, he had to tell Malcolm that the book is about HIM not Elijah.
you know Napoleon (outlawz 2pac) parents had a problem with a few fruits from that mosque and ended up getting killed..

You have to understand, a lot of the NOI's teachings were allegory. Back in the 30's/40's and still today, we as blacks were so use to allegorical scriptures coming out of the bible, Farad had to give us something that was similar to it. But in actuality, it was reverse psychology. The bible and the depiction of the white Jesus was used to make us believe we were inferior. His lessons reversed the role to blacks being superior and whites being inferior. It was a antidote to clear our minds from white supremacy and do/depend for ourselves. Because when you do for yourself, you automatically take the power away from the next man (in this case whites) and start believing in yourself. It was genius. But I'll say this, from building with the elders from that time and studying, the starting point isn't always the finishing point. Meaning the way the NOI was structured wasn't always suppose to stay that way. And Farad and Elijah gave hints that it wasn't...
