@MarsPunka and @raedawn07

Its my worst fear also...not just because of the psychological and physical affects, but because I personally know someone that has gone through it before. I have seen first hand how she lives her life today after the situation, and I just don't want to have something like that in the back of my mind constantly... I couldn't deal...Shes very strong for being able to.

I have had a near rape experience...I also have a friend that was by a family member. She never told anybody and still sees him at family stuff and he talks to her like it's nothing. It has affected her entire life, and how she deals with men. She didn't even realize it.

Damn rape twice

Damn rape twice
An ex of mine had been raped twice in her life. She was molested for years by her grandfather. Her family eventually just moved her away from him instead of confronting the issue even though they knew what was going on.

Then years later while her husband was overseas she lived with his family. One night the husband's sister's husband climbed into her bed, covered her mouth and went at it. She said he told her that if she said anything she would get kicked out and would be homeless since she was living nowhere near the rest of her family. I forgot the outcome but it lead to her immediately leaving the state and going to years of therapy for her. It finally came out and the wife divorced the husband.

Has she gone to the authorities? Statute of limitations is not up.

The sad thing is she may not have been his first victim or last, you never know whay other innocent girl she might save.

To the dudes really in here making jokes like this shyt is funny, ya'll really need to grow up :beli:

And stop trying to divert the thread into the direction of men getting raped because this thread is not about that :comeon: This is about the female victims. And even if you were to compare the two situations, females 9 times out of 10 definitely have it worst than men when it comes to worrying about being raped. Most of ya'll nikkas don't know nothing about the realities of rape and sexual assault because for the most part men do not have to worry about that shyt.

The way alot of ya'll are trying to deflect this shyt and blame the victims seriously reminds me of how white people deny racism and turn around and blame black people for it on some "Well maybe if you black people didn't listen to rap music and sag your pants, then maybe you wouldn't face racism" shyt :stopitslime:

Sound familiar :aicmon:

I am not sure about the statute, but I have already talked to her about it. She didn't even tell her mom. She blames herself and feels like so much time has passed she should be over it. I told her she needs counseling, more than what I learned in my psychology classes can give her. She doesn't listen.

It's unreal what abused women go through.
For them to be able to come through it (although I imagine it's a life-long ongoing process) is the height of strength and courage.

No it isn't. Someone who is selfless enough to risk their lives for the safety of others and still maintain a sense of honor and morals and righteousness takes more strength and courage. These girls on the other hand, what other choice do they have? Either move on and live, or kill yourself? That's an easy decision for most. I don't think that decision the HEIGHT of strength and courage like you said. I'm not trying to take shots at these girls, obviously they went through severe trauma, but let's not get too carried away in the hyperbole that you want to call them saints or some shyt, let's keep it real.

Ive said this before, but people who find sexual interest in stories of rape or abuse, have a sociopathic urge to maim and destroy another human being, even if one isnt in physical participation of the act. The rape culture is real, and it absolutely disgusts me to my core.

As a man, i dont live under the constant psychological and physiological strain of being overtly sexualized, in conjunction w/ being at a physical disadvantage and at the mercy of another man's sexual assault. All the crap women put men through doesnt even scratch the surface of the dehumanizing environment women must exist in on a day to day basis. The parallels with sexism and racism are striking, and sorrowful

Let's be real, most women love that attention. I can't sympathize with that at all until it crosses that line into a rape or molestation, because women like to look good and receive attention from guys and capitalize on it.

:what:
On what basis do you find rape and racism equal ? Not saying that you can't joke about it, but comparing the two ?
Jokes are acceptable as long as the audience accept them. It should be obvious that one shouldn't joke about racism around black people as it is obvious that one shouldn't joke about rape around women as it is obvious that one shouldn't joke about the Holocaust around Jews. One should know the audience before joking about certain matters.

My $0.02

1. We have to be fair and cats on here joke about EVERYTHING. I don't know why you all are expecting rape to be any different.

2. I made a thread on SOHH about how I'm pretty sure 1 out of every 3 chicks I know has been raped or molested. shyt is heartbreaking because it leaves so many issues. My gf in high school was raped by her grandfather and her grandma called her a liar. The crazy thing is that a lot of families will pretend like the shyt isn't happening. It's disgusting. Oh and anybody who takes advantage of a little kid has a special place in hell for them. Kids can't control their situation.

3. I wish more women would report legitimate rape. I know a girl that was raped by a college football player but scared to report it. I also understand how people can disregard their claims which brings me to my next point.

4. Grown women have to be more careful and cautious. It's weird when I watch videos of these video vixens like Rosa Acosta who are constantly surrounded by men and I just think to myself, "She sells sexiness for a living, how has she avoided rape?" I'm sure a lot of guys would have no problems slipping something in her drink and taking advantage. I also know a chick that was raped purely because she put herself in a dumb situation (leaving her man to hang out and do drugs with a bunch of random guys). When you hear stories like that it's hard to be empathetic.

5. I'm not sure how I feel about spousal rape. Like I can't even conceive the concept in my head. I'd need to know the specifics of each case before I made judgement. How can you marry someone who would rape you? :mindblown: Like I said, I'd need to know the circumstances around it. Was he horny and your pregnancy stitches hadn't healed yet? Or was everything fine and you just weren't in the mood? I do feel there is somewhat of an obligation for married people to please each other so I'm conflicted.
