Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Exploring space is a waste of resources just as funding wars is :manny:

No, the goal of life is to repopulate and spread, going into space advances that goal.

As long as we're on this planet we can go extinct, if the human race can get off this rock and spread to other planets then the odds of our species going extinct drop dramatically.

Exploring space and spreading should be the only goal we have :yeshrug:

3. Here’s the distance, to scale, between the Earth and the moon. Doesn’t look too far, does it?

4. THINK AGAIN. Inside that distance you can fit every planet in our solar system, nice and neatly.

You're assigning human limitations, scale, sense of time, and distance to something far greater, yet, I wasn't suggesting HUMANS could travel that far. And I wasn't suggesting that it's "organic" life that would be out there doing the traveling, either.

What I, and many others are simply suggesting is that life exists, more so than NOT existing- [and even more to the point of your statement suggesting that said life is somehow "stuck in their corner of eternity"]- I am suggesting that you expand the realm of possibility a little more.. realize that they may be far more advanced than we.. a few couple of thousand light years could be meh status :ehh: to them.

It is not "radical" to think that. Especially with "evidence" that they've visited here before.

Areed.

If someone reads Fermi's Paradox: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fermi_paradox

They will see a list of hypothesis that could all be true.

The thing is as humans we ASSUME that any alien race would be just like or similar to us (humanoid) but in all likelihood we wouldn't be able to identify an E.T even if it was in plain sight. We might have already seen them through telescope or picked up sound-waves from them but only could identify it as "noise" or "nothing", or their appearance as something "non-living".

My favorite of the Fermi hypothesis is the " Zoo Hypothesis" that states that they could be aware of us and even STUDYING us on a regular basis, but never initiating contact for various reasons some of witch could be because they feel we are not ready or they may not want to disrupt our natural progression, and need more time for us to develop.

Another could be that they feel we are insignificant and would not be able to understand them. Like a human trying to talk to an ant.

Or maybe the last time they crossed through the milky way were millions of years ago and humans were not developed much at the time or maybe even developed at all.

This is why i always scoffed at sports teams being crowned world champions...world champs of earth aint shyt, now imagine how great the champs of the interstellar galaxy are,the monstars are real folks and they would give Jordan and Shaq that intergalactic work...

This stuff literally leaves me like :ohhh:to the point i cant focus on my insignifigant work...

8 billion light years away,i cant even comprhend that distance in my mind and yet it exists and you can see a speck on a screen that indicates that distance :ohhh:

I need to lie down and listen to the eye in the sky instrumentals...

:mjlol: nikka are you high?

you looked at all that shyt, and the first thing that popped in your mind is some species from a far away galaxy that has a basketball team better than the 1996 chicago bulls.

aint no god focused on this itsy bitsy planet out of all those galaxies.

:mjlol:

same shyt. i cant believe anyone can look at stuff like this and think there is a god. isnt the bible the word of god? how come it doesnt talk about how god created those billions of other galaxies, and those trillions of other suns...and those quadrillions of other planets? or how about the fact that galaxies are still forming? in that case, shouldnt the bible be an ongoing piece of work thats routinely updated? shyt just doesnt add up.

When I see all the shyt thats out there..I think we have the intelligence to travel to these far off galaxies. But I dont think we have the resources. I think we're afforded the resources to do shyt in our galaxy. I think there are materials and elements in other galaxies that we have no idea about...

I dunno when I look at stuff like this...it really puts into perspective the fact that everything we've ever learned as mankind, is really just insignificant and essentially worthless compared to what else is out there.

There's absolutely no way there isn't a life form out there. I simply refuse to believe out those trillions of galaxies, only one Galaxy can support life. And even in that one galaxy, only one planet supports life.

I really wish we would find a life form somewhere during my lifetime. It would probably be the biggest thing to happen to mankind ever and I want to be alive when it happens.

They are 100% out there. It can't be refuted. Many of them have already been to earth. They saw it and thought it was :flabbynsick: that's why they refuse to stay here. All we do is kill each other and fight wars. Why would any other lifeform want anything to do with humans? :mjpls:

The thought of people like you and I somewhere else in the galaxy has always fascinated me. :ohlawd:

It's a shame NASA doesn't get the budget that's afforded to our military, imagine if they had $1 trillion every year for the last 10 years like we wasted on wars :to:

Or the fact the US stopped pushing into space in the 70s, how much further would we be if they had kept it going for the last 40 years with a ton of money going to them.

I think it's going to take some kind of disaster for the human race to realize how important exploring space is, and what's worse is that none of us will be alive to see it when it happens.
You know that budget doesn't "exist" right? Its all debt. :heh:

We have the resources, the issue right now is the technology isn't up to par and the funding to get it up to par isn't there. NASA out here hitting needles in haystacks from 100,000 miles away and the money the NFL, NBA and MLB makes could float them for a year :dead:
