I prefer Hell on Earth but The Infamous is one of the 10 or 15 most undeniable masterpieces in all of hip hop.

Truly timeless. P was so hungry, raw and gutter and Hav's production was so harsh and haunting. I remember the first time hearing it I got a horrible headache like 30 minutes later. And I swear to God I still blame that shyt on Hav's insanely hard ass drums (HARDEST drums ever unquestionable....Eye for a Eye is a straight up assault). My brain wasn't ready for that shyt :mjlol:

But thankfully my body adapted to the harshness and it's become one of my favorite albums:mjgrin:

And while I prefer HOE...one thing that maybe makes The Infamous a more well rounded album is Q-Tip's contribution, which gives the album some breathing room. While HOE is relentless horror, Tip's tracks add just a little bit of lightness and smoothness that gives you time to breathe.

Incredible album.

Props to them...I grew up on this album from day 1....and I've bought three copes in my lifetime (2 cassettes and 1 CD)...and it has been in my top 3 albums since it came out...Drink Away the Pain purely from a creative lyrical aspect will always be my personal favorite HH song.

That being said....I see everyone on IG (celebrities etc) giving them props for this....but I don't remember anyone mentioning this at the 20 year Anniversary or the 10th one either....When it hit the 10 year mark....I always wondered why they never did a special release with features and unreleased materials? I remember when Nas did one for Illmatic an I always wondered why Infamous and OB4CL never got one....seems like they missed out on some opportunities to do that.

Prodigy sounded so good over “modern” production too :wow:

I know this thread is supposed to be about The Infamous. I made it after all :mjlol:
But @Nicole0416 got me playing 2010s Prodigy :wow:

I had to rush in and pay tribute to their greatest songs after seeing the 25th anniversary, my fault. I got carried away
:lolbron:
