I prefer Hell on Earth but The Infamous is one of the 10 or 15 most undeniable masterpieces in all of hip hop.
Truly timeless. P was so hungry, raw and gutter and Hav's production was so harsh and haunting. I remember the first time hearing it I got a horrible headache like 30 minutes later. And I swear to God I still blame that shyt on Hav's insanely hard ass drums (HARDEST drums ever unquestionable....Eye for a Eye is a straight up assault). My brain wasn't ready for that shyt
But thankfully my body adapted to the harshness and it's become one of my favorite albums
And while I prefer HOE...one thing that maybe makes The Infamous a more well rounded album is Q-Tip's contribution, which gives the album some breathing room. While HOE is relentless horror, Tip's tracks add just a little bit of lightness and smoothness that gives you time to breathe.
Incredible album.
