Interesting. But those aren’t calendar year hits. I’m talking January 94 to December 94. All released in that year.

I'll grant you it's hard to beat. I would like to point out Samuel L. Jackson's 1993 (even though he's not the main draw in most and they're not all 100 million+ movies, it did clearly contribute to the rising of his star power):

- Jurassic Park
- Menace II Society
- True Romance
- Amos & Andrew
- Loaded Weapon 1

Not a bad come up.

Also, in 1998 Bruce Willis had Armageddon, The Siege and Mercury Rising. Mercury Rising did 93 million worldwide, the others 100+.

Yeah Bruce would be the closest but I think Denzel was the lead in the siege, right? Not to diss Bruce but I think the studio clearly said this is a Denzel movie

Yeah of course. The article was purely about box office and star power. Dude was the main draw for three movies. All within five months of each other. And they all made bank. And they were shot on tiny budgets. No one has done the 100 million plus money maker hat trick like that. I don’t think anyone has done it since.

I don't know whose brainchild Biorhythm was but it was one of the best things MTV ever produced.

1. Jim was the headliner of his three flicks. Rocky wasn’t. For at least two of those.

2. Ace was 107. Mask was 351. Dumb and dumber was 247.3. And he was the main attraction for all of them.

Snitch came and went. Pain and gain is doesn’t cross the 100 mill threshold. And fast 6 is more ensemble than anything else. GI joe is the only comparable project
