The military saved me from the absolutely depressing slow crawl stiff and sedentary 9 to 5 corporate world. I might off myself if I ever have to go back to that :sadcam: that may explain some of the suicides.

1st Round Playoff Exits
cot damn that's disgusting.

an army of middle class, working class, and poor make up the fighting ranks and fight wars for rich folks, while rich folks get paid by exploiting the military conquests and enrich themselves through contracts or business dealings that usually involve exploiting the natural resources and human resources of the area.

the US does not spread democracy. we commit raw acts of imperialism and try to expand our power and influence around the world, not giving a shyt about the lives being destroyed.

at the very least we should demand that our politicians and/or their families are participating in these wars they are initiating. if it's really really that serious that we have to GO TO WAR then the ones initiating the wars should be on the front lines fighting and leading by example. but hell no you dont see that. as it stands currently our government and politicians participate in war activities like they're playing risk, not like they're weighing the value of human life.

going to war should always be the last option. for the US it's the second option. first we extort you and if you give it up then you only get exploited economically, but if you dont give it up we will invade your country and topple your government either through overt military action (iraq) or covert military and government action (cia-aided coups, etc) and then come in and take what they want.

but people just act like everything is okay. we salute veterans and thank them for their service but we fail to analyze the unjust mechanisms that are putting them in these situation in the first place and making them unstable. the source of the problem is our government, and more specifically the CORPORATIONS who have taken de facto control over our governments law making and law enforcing capabilities, and who are determined to acquire as much money, power, and natural resources as possible.

how many people have to die from this government/corporate/military fukkery before people get pissed off enough to do something?
:dwillhuh:

5* post....

I almost join the military and sh*t, just sohh I could around the world and sh*t, but then I realized I could do that all sh*t, without fighting a pointless war.

Thank Gawd for Dwight D Eisenhower: :blessed:

I actually took quite a big pay cut joining the military and work was relatively easy previously - more mundane than anything. That sedentary life just never jived with me :whoa:

Maybe when I'm older flabby and sick I'll consider sitting behind a desk again.

:pachaha:

Joking aside. I graduated college and did the private sector:scusthov: thing before joining so our perspectives may be different(and what I do may be different than what you do - no one yells at me). I already know what that life is like. I'm not built for that. Or rather, they're not built for me.

at my current location the yelling isn't as prominent as my last duty location. thanks for the different perspective man.

Yeah that's odd. There's rarely any yelling in my unit unless it's during training/deployed heat of the moment. I would take offense at anyone yelling at me and the includes chiefs full birds and generals - and I would let it be known. Anyway, I don't do it for the bad-assery or pride either - I just like the life, and apparently I'm good at it. So I'll grab all the awards they throw at me, put on as many ribbons, medals, stripes/bars, collect as many coins as possible, do my best to defend and ensure the safety of my comrades do it for as many years as I would like to, and at the end? Retire and talk about the good old days(If I don't get killed).
