they are going overboard... i mean this interesting for what's it worth ... but there really are alot of naive/ignorant people out there ...no doubt. but even more than that ... ALOT OF TIMES YOU DON"T KNOW WHERE PEOPLE'S BACKGROUND ARE FROM....and you're curious .. I know I am .... just deal with it .. is what I say ... even in your mind you are as "American As Apple Pie", other folks don't see it .. so its' an opportunity to educate and open up some minds about what is possible..

"No You're White" .... the chick is probably Argentinian or even Peruvian .. but some folks really aren't mindful of culture and history or geography like that, and how folks identify themselves.. :yeshrug: .. it is what is ... microaggression is really just genuine naivety and curiousity (usually)

Most people simply just ask where I'm from (as in my ethnic)...but I have come across plenty of ignorance (being called middle eastern, pretty much any celebrity/known person of middle eastern descent, "terrorist", etc.). But most of it came from GA in grade thru high school....nowadays I'm just confused with a bunch of ethnicities, but every now and then I come across the token idiot....

btw when people speak of racial micro aggressions, they aren't all talking about the glorious "white male." racism is an ideology (worldview) that involves a crude hierarchy of phenotypes. as such, it can be shared by people of any skin color, including people who generally who do not posses a fair-skin. see, for instance, all the latin americans who aspire to whiteness and push themselves as far away from their indigenous ancestry.

That's not what racism is, even if your shytlib professor says otherwise. Racism is hatred or dislike of a specific group based on the colour of their skin. There is no "ideology" of racism that the world follows, if anything most liberal democracies are progressively anti-racist. The reason you see differences between the races is a history of culture, temperament, geography, religion, community & history.

It's like people don't understand racism. If you appear white, and someone calls you white, they're not being racist, they're being observant. Even if they're incorrect in their observation. Some of that other shyt is just disrespectful, and needed to be checked at the door. How can ask you what your hair looks like while snatching your hat off and you don't address it? Sounds like you're getting bullied. If you ask a bi-racial person what they are, you don't have to turn that statement into a "they called me a 'what..'" moment, because you know they were referring to what race you are. The only two that I hate hearing are, "You're cute for a dark skin girl," (no I aint a chick) and, "You're not like a regular black person."
