I still can’t believe the Nets took them to 7 and Indiana took them to 6 but we lost in 5 :snoop:

Kobe’s jumper was off and he couldn’t get to the FT line like he usually did. GP was a traffic cone on defense. Shaq still could score like the best in the game but his rebounding wasn’t the same. And his defense was trash. But I remember I think it was Game 2 Luke Walton off the bench had me thinking he was gonna be something nice

They were a cool team to watch. Just everybody doing their job to perfection. It’s not cool, but I love watching players constantly coming off screens for mid-range jumpers, like Rip. The mid-range was my favorite part of the game of basketball

I still remember Greg Anthony saying Kobe was better than MJ at the same age. When Kobe hit the GW in game 2.

This series made no sense in real time. Salute to the Pistons for taking care of business.

Rasheed might as well have been league MVP that season.

Warriors drafting Wiseman in 2020=modern day version of
Pistons drafting Darko over Bosh, Wade or Melo. They could've extended their main core's window of title contenders a lil longer.

A lot longer

The Pistons kept making the conference finals through 2008.

RIP Ralph Wiley
Will always remember losing him during that series. Yes it was very shocking. This was still the "weak east" era. Was not expecting a gentleman's sweep.

Above the fray.
Great accomplishment for them. But before then and after then, other teams have repeated or won multi titles. So the 2004 ring doesn't have as much significance, outside of Detroit.

Styles make fights. Those teams were also more familar with the Pistons. And if we keeping it a stack the Lakers didnt take them seriously. Pistons were the ultimate team...in lock step on both ends. And everybody was in their prime save Tayshaun. Outside of Kobe the Lakers was old and slow. Kobes J wasnt off...he was taking horrible shots over a dude with a 7'4 wingspan. Pistons and the sidekick shyt got in his head.

melo on the pistons being forced to play defense from jump and with that type of veteran mentoring wouldve been a monster

and would have 1-2 rings to show for his career too

Over who though? Lamelo's frail ass ain't extending no dynasty

No player in the top 10 would've made a difference

You can point out Haliburton in hind sight but a bunch of other teams missed out on him too.
