Senate is just always going to lean red by makeup. Will be interesting to see if the Dems can get solid lead in the house split.

2026 is a good year for dems in the senate, just like 2024 was good for republicans. Defending a lot of seats (even winnable/favorable ones) while your party's president is in the WH is hard.

End of the day the election is gonna come down to inflation and prices, just like 2024. Add in Trump's chaos and the general fukkery (including job losses, loss of benefits, etc) and it could get real ugly. His approvals are tanking faster than any modern president's this early in a term. Everything voters were warned about is coming true. So I don't think it matters that dems don't have a "leader" out there or even a platform yet. We're about to see a 2010 style reactive whiplash.

I think we need to reckon that as humans we are a very flawed species psychologically.

The status quo isn’t necessarily bad it’s just that our egos always strive for something better or different.

The liberal world order America enjoyed was much better than whatever the fukk Trump and Elon is doing right now yet America chose a different path. I think it comes down to humans, no matter how good they have it will want a novel experience.

If you marry a woman that you see as an absolute 10, it won’t be too long until you get tired of her and start looking for some new p*ssy even if the new girls you look at are objectively less attractive

But dems aren’t doing enough to sway public opinion :damn:
They aren’t. Trump and Musk are just aggravating people. The problem is that you need an agenda once you take over or we are back here again. And just, if not more importantly now, you need a way to sell it that permeates through both traditional and social media.

These motherfukkers could have did this shyt 3 months ago. Now that they see the consequences of their action, they want to vote democrats. If the Country is as liberal as progressives seem to believe, then the 2026 election better be a seismic shift in the legislative chamber. Talking Dems better win the house by 20 plus seats, the red ass leaning senate better turn purple by more than a handful of seats.
The country isn’t liberal or conservative. People have amorphous views and don’t have a clear ideology. Those are just simple terms people use to describe politics because we exist in a two party system so people aren’t able to fully demonstrate their views. Moreover, 38 percent of people didn’t vote in the last election so the most common view is this shyt doesn’t matter. We do not have an engaged electorate and because of that social media propaganda is very effective and Republicans were very good at doing that last election. The reason that you’re not hearing these stories anymore like the lead up to the election is because those vendor contracts have likely expired. They’ll ramp up again around the next political season including paid appearances of TV or other platforms where people don’t have to disclose these things.

I would take an 86-year-old Bernie Sanders any day of the week right now for 2028
If that's who you Americans place your faith in to save your democracy, y'all future is bleak. Not that Sanders isn't a good politician but simply the man was born in 1941 :picard:

How come 10 years later Sanders, at the ripe age of 83, is still the only progressive hope ? He has not mentored nor vouched for any one ?

Listen I was never on the side of Bernie Bros but it's obvious he has a way to captivate people in a way few on the left ever have.

If he was 15- 20 years younger he'd be unstoppable because I think the Democrats would have learned their lesson.

I may not agree with everything with the man says but he's a once in a lifetime politician.

And he would have wiped the floor with Trump in 16

Your not wrong there breh :snoop:

I have a theory that at least a third off Trump voters know he is full of shyt. But they know no matter who is president they themselves have no hope for their future. They're won't be a better tomorrow. All they have left to cling to is the hope that everyone hurts as bad as they're hurting.

Trump mastered the way of Tik Tok videos captivate people. Short easy digestible information that isn't overly complex and strikes right at what he thinks can solve your problem.

Deport people, blow something up, make a tariff because you're getting screwed by someone else.

There's no consulting group in the world that can simplify sentences quicker than he can.

People want populist liberal policies but don't want populist liberal politicians with the exception of Bernie Sanders.

And Bernie works because he's authentic, doesn't speak on script from some consulting group and goes down and meets people exactly where they are no matter what background or who they voted for. In another universe Bernie and Trump would be exactly the same.

And he has the voting record to back up when he's talking about

It’s this

Although the seeds of what he planted won’t be in politics until the 2030s.
Who has next until then ? Y'all don't really have a decade. I'm guessing AOC is a no because of Kamala and Hillary runs ?
