One argument I hate that ppl use against the tush push is that it is boring. It's a 1 yd touchdown. One of the most boring scoring plays in sports, for its value. Don't blame that shít on the tush push:heh:

A goal line stance might be more exciting than a 1 yd touchdown:yeshrug:

What about if a Punter does not follow the gameplan and goes off-script for a game-breaking play that gets stopped just short of the Goal Line? :lolbron:

Why are defensive tackles suddenly getting paid so much in free agency? Are Milton Williams (4yrs/$104M) and Javon Kinlaw ($3yrs/$45M) worth that kind of money? Aren’t there always talented DTs in the draft?

Those are overpays imo. Patriots paid the suck tax and Commanders idk what they are doing. League is valuing pressure up the middle now so DT are being paid like edge

Yeah the sudden spike in DT contracts seems analytics related. Maybe the thinking is the pressure and attention they command indirectly helps edge rushers, which helps cornerbacks.

Being able to get pressure up the middle is essential. I know this doesn't tell the entire story, but what was the last Super Bowl winning team that had an elite edge rusher? You'd have to go back to a prime Von Miller. Even looking at the teams in the AFCCG and NFCCG over the past decade, and it's not like there's a ton of elite edge rushers in those games.

I think we might be starting to see the resurgence of the interior line and the HB position.
