We all see Caleb did a great job shooting the gap but it didn't matter as he clearly was put in the dirt and didn't do anything to impede the progress of the back...getting to the spot and getting dominated isn't "blowing up a play" lmao what I want is a tackle physical enough to actually impact the forward progress of a guy that's 200 pounds less than him when he gets his hands on him and is able to deliver a shot but clearly Texas doesn't have the personnel to achieve that :mjlol:

There's 4 buckeye in the backfield because every blocker in this clip failed, you clearly see that there's a Texas player present for every buckeye besides downs who was rendered useless with that stiff arm in the screen shot :snoop: good lord, like I said from the beginning....if you can't execute it doesn't matter what play you call it will fail
Caleb shooting the gap deaded an already dead play as the RB didn’t have time to get downfield, and seeing how Ohio State was already in the backfield with a numbers advantage with 2 of Texas blockers being wide receivers( lol) it didn’t matter that he didn’t specifically make the tackle as the running back ain’t sprouting wing to get through the veritable sea of Buckeyes collapsing on him.

And no it don’t matter what you want the tackle to do, no tackle in America is making that block when the DB already has leverage and flowing to the football. You aren’t impacting the forward progress of a player when that player has already crossed your face mask.

This is a defense with multiple NFL players on it many of which have been in this system for 4 years. You aren’t getting to the boundary on them trying to block 4 on 5 with 2 of those blockers being receivers and 289lb pulling tackle whilst also pitching the ball backwards 9 yards.

Oh well looky here

So basically the RB is supposed to cut up behind the tackle. Can’t because Caleb is blitzing. Horrible play call.

I'm telling y'all that was a Caleb Downs instinct play, 95% of safeties don't make that play

Pedo St ran the ball up the middle three straight times and got stuffed. Realized they couldn’t do it and then tried to throw on 4th down. This is on a bigger stage so I’m sure most people didn’t see that game and questioning Texas. Our d-line just thorough.
Both things can be true, Ohio State is absolutely elite defensively with NFL talent and it’s a horrible play call. You can absolutely run stretch or a quick pitch or misdirection, but when OSU comes out in that alignment you call a time out or have an audible on deck.

If you go rewatch the first play it was just our guys completely whiffing on that left side besides banks. Just piss poor effort

Banks is 320 lmao but you are 100% correct. As I said earlier the play would work if we don’t pull banks. Pulling banks is what gave downs the hole to shoot the gap it was never gonna work especially considering they were shooting the gaps all game long

We already talked about Caleb being put in the dirt so theres no need to continue legislating that but the bolded let I agree with, the back had no chance navigating thru a see of unblocked defenders for sure :mjlol:thank you for highlighting another execution failure and making my point for me

If he's meant to cut up behind the tackle that's even worse execution as the guard didn't block either ...completely collapsing any chance of creating running lane :mjlol:hilariously in that same clip you posted the coach told you exactly what went wrong on the play as I said lmao

Texas fans done found their woah is me play to hold on. Y'all tried running up the middle the first play. Nothing... like pretty much every team has tried this year against OSU.

Stop whining lol. Ohio State was the clear better team. Y'all was fortunate to be that close in the fourth quarter

Yep no doubt in my mind they were in all fire from the get go. Soon as that Tackle exited the gap Caleb was going through it.

They were unblocked because the play was supposed to cut inside. Caleb pushed the play outside into where the buckeyes were already flowing. Which makes sense because nobody but you thinks that a 329lb tackle is getting his hips around a blitzing DB being shielded by the D end. Him not making the tackle is immaterial because just by altering the RB from his running lane the play is dead because there is no blocking on the outside because there ain’t supposed to be. Do you follow any of this?

Btw what the hell you talking about the guard

Breh you arguing with an idiot. Me you and anybody who knows football clearly can see there is no way for Caleb to get blocked by the time he in the gap banks is already passed him. If we just take regular toss/outside zone steps it’s blocked up to perfection because 81 can wash his guy down to the next guy we pick up downs and we have the cut back right there. Instead we pull banks leaving a huge gap as everybody has an man to block and he forces the rb to not only go further outside but also to go backwards which lost even more yards.
