@dtownreppin214 @Numpsay I haven't watched tOSU all year. Is their QB as scary as Penix was last season for UW?

No. We beat dude with Murphy at QB last year when he was at KSU. He is good though and has better talent around him now. But I wouldn't say he is Penix level good.
Howard fell off last season, but I remember he was scary in the 2022 season & Texas was lucky AF that K-State foolishly started Adrian Martinez over Howard in that '22 UT-K-State game.

I think I'd give y'all a slight edge in regards to who is more talented. I don't expect to be able to run the ball so Quinn is going to have to show up. On defense we gotta get Howard out the pocket and uncomfortable. I'm not optimistic. I also think this is the de facto championship game. Whoever wins will win the whole thing.

I mean, we're both touting highly recruited/paid rosters....allegedly.

Like us, y'all Oline seems to be gettin' banged up as this long year continues to progress but the pieces we've moved around seem to be reaching peak synergy at the right time. But you never know because y'all Dline is sum shyt. Big boys. I think Chip can get in his bag to try to take advantage though + we have a hulk (Jeremiah Smith) if nothing else lol.

Quinn can get erratic at times so it'll be interesting to see what Knowles can draw up to throw him off his shyt and if Sawyer, JT and Liek can keep playin' at the level they have been. Plus Downs is all over the place. I still think Sark can get in his bag playcalling wise tho, especially if extra motivated, even tho some seem to be souring on him a lil.

I'm interested to see if we can run on y'all cuz it seemed like ASU couldn't at first then they finally started to pass a lil to open shyt up and Skattebo starting finding dem lanes. Plus Will can run too like dude from ASU---doesnt do it as much but doesn't have to.

My expectation is Knowles will take the Georgia approach in shutting down the run and short passing game, and making Quinn win the game with his arm throwing the ball down field. He is also going to need to use his feet to extend drives.

On defense our DL will need to control the trenches and pressure Howard. We have a really good secondary but this is the most talented WR group they will have played. I expect us to be in a shell coverage to try and prevent big plays.

For us to win Quinn needs to be on his A game. Offense cannot disappear at anytime during the game because we can't expect our defense to shut y'all offense down.

To the bolded I think that’s more so because the defense played 98 snaps. The one thing I do like is Quinn, sark and PK both have faced Knowles defense and Will Howard 2 times so I think they will be more ready for them than ASU. Tbh ASU threw everything but the kitchen sink at us Kenny called a great game but even tho I get on sark it’s not many times he gets that out coached it should be a fun one. Also it might come back to bite me but I feel like Tennessee and Oregon don’t have the same talent in the trenches that we do and that can be the difference

Knowles has been experimenting with and perfecting his 3 high hybrid system, using Caleb as the bullet to capitalize on his Godlike instincts. He seems to be ok with giving up a lil for the long game so I could see him playin' around wit sum disguises, light #s in the box, etc. can Wisner take advantage of that if he does? How did Georgia play y'all? Exotic stuff or just straight up, load the box, etc?

If y'all are in shell coverage a lot, I expect Kelly to get diabolical with Treyveon & Q, and lean on the option routes like he has the past couple of weeks. I think Emeka has scored twice or had big gains the last couple weeks off day shyt.

I think Quinn and Will both in the same boat of not being the ones to cost their team with an untimely error but I do feel like Howard has been playin' sum of the best ball of his life and just QB play in CFB right now. Digging deep into the #s, he's doing better than Stroud in sum aspects which is crazy. But again, if y'all big boys on that line have any say, he might be in for a long one but I think Chip will adjust regardless.

Will Howard at KSU not the same as him here, respectfully lol. Him having #4 and Emeka, and Tate to throw too hit different. And even then, wasn't the last game y'all faced him an OT thriller where he almost led a 4 TD comeback? So just as much as y'all might be prepared for his tendencies and tells, might be the same from his perspective. Especially once he get in the lab with Chip & em.

It may not be exactly the same in the trenches but Tennessee and Oregon aren't scrubs by any means even if we made em look like it...

The 3 high coverage is the defense that gives Sark the most issues when it comes to calling successful plays. IMO the way to beat that defense is to be able to run the ball and also have a mobile QB, we don't consistently do the former and our QB1 is not the latter. I'm sure Sark will try and exploit Downs natural instincts but when the box is light we have to be able to run the ball. Georgia played us straight up. In the first game their DL whooped our OL, and they played physical man coverage behind it. In the second game we mainly beat ourselves but they were crashing down on the run and the short stuff.

The goal on defense will be to not give up big gains and short scoring drives. 10 play drives that end in points, we'll tip our hat and take it. 3-4 play drives ending in TDs, no bueno. A lower scoring game I think favors us. So we have to be able to sustain drives to reduce the number of possessions in the game.

I think Ewers has a higher ceiling than Howard but Howard has a higher floor. In this moment in time I'd say Howard throws a much better ball, especially on deep throws. The QB that has the better game likely leads their team to the championship.

I'll say people have looked at this Ohio St team the last 2 weeks and are damn near proclaiming them unbeatable. I hope that rhetoric continues throughout the week up until game time. We need to be the team playing with a chip on our shoulder.

That will Howard is still there lol they just haven’t been able to get pressure. I think our DTs and edges are better respectfully to Tennessee and Oregon. Also that OT game our secondary was ass last year me or you could’ve thrown from 260+ lmao. I think it will be a fun one tho. I really like yall edges but I feel banks and Williams are definitely better than Tennessee and Oregon tackles. Now the interior ok I worry about because they can play amazing one game and look like trash the next game. The one thing Quinn does that gets overlooked is his ability to change protections and audible which has helped greatly these last two games. I do have a question for you and @smitty22 what did Michigan do that stopped the passing game? Because it seemed like even when yall tried to pass yall couldn’t.

I mean, niccas on here can push the narrative that we tried to pass and it didn't work because Howard through 30 times or whatever but even @DropTopDoc will tell you our passing game in terms of "flow" and creativity before and after that game is night and day. He has his suspicions that Day took the sticks 🎮 over from Chip...

Idk know about that but it was all just weird, stubborn and unimaginative.

That being said, not gonna completely take credit away from them fucc niccas. They have real ones in the trenches and Chip/Day were baited beautifully by Wink (who all of a sudden remembered how to coach) with him playing a lot of 2 high, giving light box looks (daring us to run) and us falling for it and running right into the teeth of their defense.

We did not target Jeremiah at all in that game or look to get him involved fr and you see what happens when he touches the ball. That's not trying.

But again, Wink called a great game and we called a shytty one :yeshrug:
