In 2023, didn't have a single back with 300 attempts. This year, three guys already have it (Saquon, Henry, Kyren), and Jacobs will join these guys before it's over...

We currently have twelve 1k rushers, and we could end up with 17 or 18 1k rushers...

Three of the four most productive backs (Saquon, Henry, Jacobs) all went to new teams and had immediate, championship-contention impact. Granted, all three teams were playoff teams last year, but it's all three teams in '24 are also BETTER than they were in '23. RB agents are gonna attribute that to the backs...

A return to valuing the RB position is underway...

Two years ago we nearly had four rbs over 300 carries and had the same volume of 1k rushers.

Aside from Jeanty doesn't seem like there's any strong RB prospects that'll be drafted highly and I think the top FA this year is Aaron Jones.

What made this year unique was Barkley Jacobs and Henry all hitting FA at the same time. Not a major change to how RBs are evaluated.

NFL got too pass happy and tried to phase out RBs. Then defenses starting shutting down QBs so bad Mel Kiper bytch ass started crying saying we need to ban Cover 2. Now we brought back the running backs getting them tough, Bossman Dlow/Young Jeezy/BigXThaPlug power forward music type yards

All being disrespected by shytty ass teams that were lucky to have them. I could see Henry because of age and miles but letting two backs the caliber of Barkley and Jacobs just walk at what is usually prime age is malpractice. You put a top back on a team that's already good (which usually means they have a good line and/or other weapons that demand defensive attention) and good things will happen.

The reason you have teams running the football more now is because defenses are playing their safeties way back off the line of scrimmage.

After years of getting burned by Tyreek Hill and others going deep, defenses are taking those opportunities away, so you're seeing a lot more running plays and shorter passes underneath.

It's not that the Running Backs have gotten better.
Offenses are adapting to what's available to them.

Glad the market is favoring RBs again. At one point, the de-valuing of the position was downright disrespectful.
When u say market do u mean these backs are getting long term deals for their true worth? Or they just producing but still have work to do on financial side

I'm happy for all of them especially Barkley. He carried the Giants and got Jones paid only for them to let him walk away. Now he's having one of his best seasons and Jones is a backup on another team. They deserve to suffer for as long as possible.

Not once in the original post did he mention backs are better now a days. Hes saying backs are more valuable today than in recent years, due to the points youve made in your post. Youre agreeing with him, but in an arguable way :mindblown:

The first rule of politics is to address the question you wish was asked, not the one that was.

But you're young.

I do think that the success of these three, especially if it carries over inti 2025, will force a market correction in how teams view giving backs that second contract, and/or long term deals. They are gonna pave the way for more guaranteed money and/or long term deals for PROVEN, veteran backs, and the teams that have these guys will think twice before letting them go...

That's my prediction, should all three still be viable, Top 10 backs next year, the price of the veteran free agent running back is going up...
