For the millionth and last time from me - you are not special, engaging in any unique thought or dropping knowledge if you point out that large segments of white voters are motivated by race and cultural issues. Racial resentment theory is covered in 300 level undergraduate political science courses and has been discussed ad nauseum for 40 years.

What makes you unique is your obsession with repeating it ad nauseum and finding every item you can that allows you to regurgitate it to feel as though you’re saying something special while ignoring that every democratic victory over the last 40 years has occurred with that same backdrop. For that reason, successful campaigns headed by minority groups have been focused on economic issues and pocketbook issues in whichever area they’re running in while not relying heavily on social justice or civil rights rhetoric. You can call it the Obama model. Only in response to the progressives wanting to use that same strategy to campaign on even more left-leaning platforms did centrists begin to lean into race and other identity politics during primaries as a means of undercutting the left’s more popular message. While Bernie Sanders was saying BLM before HRC ever did - he was attacked as being too white and not getting it while she supposedly did based on nothing but the fact that she was a name brand among black people and had cornered 99 percent of DNC black super delegates.

The left has never argued that a failure to push for economic issues in and of itself is why voters vote Republican - the idea was that failing to do so turned Obama margins into HRC and Harris margins. (Obama was a blank slate and everyone projected things on to him including progressives). Whether you agree with that is up to you but it’s time to stop this disingenuous bullshyt. It helps no one.

Just pointing out the plainly obvious. I think majority of white voters have demonstrated time and time again that they would rather reject policies that improve their well being than have those benefits go to the “others.”

But going back to what I said earlier, you feel that way then we really should end elections and have the white nation the racists want and you seem pleased to let them know they want it.

What’s more comical is that none of us have made those claims about economics being the end all - but he keeps boiling things down to that reductive statement because it’s what he’s comfortable with intellectually. I’ll point out a specific strategy that the campaigns themselves are talking about or something Obama himself said and he’ll copy and paste the same boring shyt instead of dealing with that specific claim. He’s been brainwashed to think working class = white so much that I’ll be talking about black people in Milwaukee and he’ll still come back with “but but but those cacs.”

The idea of not appealing to working class people of all backgrounds on economic issues to win as many of them as possible is a loser ass strategy when your party lost 2/3 of the last presidential elections and just lost every demo making under 100k. Unless you’re about to start cloning old black ladies and forcefully migrating them across America - you’re surrendering.
