Pelosi, Schumer, and the rest of the swamp creatures will escape largely unscathed. Obama's legacy is ruined but he'll try to maintain control of the party. If Bernie Sanders finally stops being loyal he may have a legit chance but I doubt he's ever had that kind of spine. AOC and the rest are completely irrelevant outside of TV spots so they won't ever do impactful things for the party anyway.

OK? I'm not even damning Biden's health here. I'm pointing out how the DNC had a chance to prepare a candidate for 2 years ahead of time. The great advantage of a primary system? Finding out what your OWN voters actually care about. This wasn't a narrow win at all. This is going down as possibly the worst election loss in U.S. history. The Democrats lost everything from the Federal level to State legislatures. Biden's legacy is definitely fukked but to be honest it possibly was before this election even took place.
To the bolded - I agree. He not only has the mandate, but he has a team behind him (Vivek, Musk, Tulsi, RFK) and he courted a lot of high-level Democrats upset with the party.
