Did you not see this coming? This is the risk you were ok taking, right? That this would happen to real people? Despite you being so progressive and all.

Who could have predicted that Trump would put people in internment camps when that's what he was campaigning on? :skip:
I’m sure he’ll still find a way to blame the dems as the republicans harm millions. It’s the only thing he is consistent with.

Democrats problem is that life in America is generally pretty good.

It’s hard to mobilize people on the fear of the republican boogie man when their needs are generally met and there’s almost never a real tangible change in their lives based on national politics.

on the other side it’s easy to motivate people based on their fear of “whiteness” going away.

It will always be an uphill battle for dems.

Honestly their best bet going forward is to go scorched earth like the repubs do. fukk up the country, obstruct everything and blame it on republican leadership :manny:
Or just let republican leadership do it.

Can a progressive reconcile this for me?

Biden governed as an economic populist and in return his administration lost support from the economically anxious
I don't think its economic populism that failed at all. A lot of Kamala's problem was racism/sexism in combination with an entire right wing media echo chamber that pushed the narrative that the economy was going in the wrong direction.
Who were the 15 million that didn't show up to vote? My haunch is that they were mostly suburban white people. I guarantee if Tim Walz was running for president we wouldn't be in this predicament. Millions couldn't bring themselves to vote for a black women. And a lot of people were just genuinely uninspired to vote period. Its a combination of both.

I'm also 100% certain that these two things i said would happen 4 months ago happened: 1)White Union people that supported Biden would not support Harris no matter what leaders endorsed her. 2)White seniors that supported Biden because they seen themselves in Biden from a race and age perspective, and also likes what he did with drug prices would not support Harris.

Biden’s approval rating didn’t do Kamala any favors. I guess the only thing you can say is Biden and Kamala don’t message as well as Bernie

Yes it is. Black people, some of them broke for Trump, and a lot stayed home. We are not infallible. We need to wake up. We could have had a primary at the convention but what did black women say, especially boule types who live in the DC, Atlanta or Charlotte suburbs. A picked candidate, because black women were threatening to leave the party is not a good look. Hell black people wanted to keep Biden first, but the whole ticket was unpopular with the rest of country.

MSNBC's largest audience is repressed and depressed wine moms and black people.

This is why we need a Wes Moore type next time
Imagine thinking black women in America have that kind of power. :gucci:
