Two, people are like cac mamba, and will make the same strawman arguments because of the left/right dichotomy. "If Trump says immigrants are the problem and wants to deport all of them, then Biden/Harris must think they're good and we should open the border to let anyone in."
or maybe they watched Biden overturn "remain in mexico" on day one; why the fukk did he do that? maybe they watched dems' words and actions. and maybe, with high inflation and a housing shortage, and blue cities getting thoroughly humiliated by greg abbott, people said 'enough of these idiots on the left pandering to illegals'

Breh, don’t reason with him. Even quoting David Brooks like he a sage is some weird, faux elitism.

There's things to be learned in all those columns for me. Of course it's elite. That's the whole point of the piece he wrote. but he's right. Brooks of course is a widely known and easy to criticize, like David French, all of them. They are like you, to me. I read your posts. You come off like a sneering nerd, but I read you anyway. You have stuff to say.

It’s grating because we’re pointing out the hypocrisy. Now is show time, Trump has power and it’s been exposed Bibi has been Trump’s puppet the entire time. It’s time to protest the puppet master or will he get a pass now that the democrats have lost?
You're not pointing out any fukking hypocrisy, you're desperately wishcasting and fantasizing that the people you hate act like the caricatures of them you have in your addled minds. Saying it's been exposed that Bibi has been Trump's puppet the entire time is the kind of skullnumbing idiocy that can only come from a demented Lib. As if Bibi and the Zionist regime needs Trump to lead them on their genocidal campaign. It's a completely transparent attempt to protect Zionist Biden and the Dems from the consequences of their own murderous actions. Trump is the puppet master of the Israel-Palestine crisis? Give me a fukking break.

Trump never fully comes thru on his promises tho. He said he'd build a wall last time. He put up a copper gate with big ass coochie holes that wobbles when the wind blows too hard
While this may be true, he still did a lot of damage to the administrative state and among the judiciary. You better believe they're going to go full throttle with court appointments and shrinking federal agencies, making them less effective.

Not sure if this has been discussed but a possible contribution to some of the "missing voters" compared to 2020 is some states automatically mailed ballots to everyone in 2020, but not 2024. So people who would've stayed home just did it cause it was convenient

Democrats lost for two major reasons. One, inflation was inevitable following COVID and the lockdowns, and people aren't educated enough on economics to understand any deeper analysis on why that is. They just think "X is president when prices went up, therefore X is responsible". The economy will always be a top 3 priority, because Americans worship money.

Two, people are like cac mamba, and will make the same strawman arguments because of the left/right dichotomy. "If Trump says immigrants are the problem and wants to deport all of them, then Biden/Harris must think they're good and we should open the border to let anyone in." The facts don't matter at the end of the day. They reach these opinions on pure emotion, and it's an uphill battle to convince them otherwise.

Like Carlin said, garbage in, garbage out. We get crap politicans because of the crap constituents.
Biden did open the borders until he realized how bad it was hurting his approval rating

I get what you are saying, but having lived for as long as I have, I've witnessed how deeply polarization has crept into our society, bringing with it a resurgence of open racism and misogyny that I can't ignore. It's become clear that, for many, voting is less about policies that could genuinely improve their lives and more about affirming a sense of identity that is increasingly racialized and gendered. This reality is painfully evident in the electorate's reluctance to support candidates who don't fit a narrow mold, especially women and Black women. Even Obama, despite his broad appeal in 2008, faced a drop in white support in 2012, and it was not over policy but due to identity-driven backlash - a whitelash to be specific.

While it's true that the Democratic establishment's centrist strategy has often alienated its base, this problem, I feel, goes beyond their outreach tactics. The deeper issue is that our society's identity biases continue to overshadow policy, creating a situation where voters may choose candidates who reinforce their sense of identity, even to their own detriment. This challenge is one I've seen harden over the years, making it difficult to move toward a future that prioritizes substantive change over superficial divisions. And I don't know how we get passed that. I know it's not happening in my lifetime.
