in florida we had election days on 2 saturdays and 2 sundays, from october 21 to november 3rd in addition to today. there is no need to die on that hill when early voting exists. you can bring a horse to water, but you can't make them drink. if people aren't voting it's because they feel they have better things to do.
I know but people work late and have kids they have to pick up and stuff. It blows. Saturday 8 a.m. - 8 p.m.

Not saying that I disagree, I am very pro federal holiday for election day, but I thought your place of work has to legally allow you time off to go vote.

I got the day off today (state worker), but also the Louisiana government knows it's constituents and probably feel that most people won't go vote anyway, especially if they didn't do it early, and according to the numbers, they didn't.

Also, they don't do early voting on Sundays down here. Afraid all the Black churches will do voting bus trips I suppose.
