People now live in a echo chamber in their own bubble with online algorithms so all they see on their TL is people who think similliar to them so they assume that’s how the majority feels.
Foreign affairs has never and will never decide an election. People vote their own pockets/self interests at the end of the day
Most people here barely follow American politics and affairs until election time never mind what’s going on in the Middle East
