Him falling asleep at his own damn trial is something that resonates poorly even to the lowest common denominator. As they always say, a picture is worth a thousand words.

If people don’t care about his conviction why would they care about him being asleep at a trial they view as political persecution.

Yep asking to clarify like that means they are pinning stuff down. To me it isn't coming across as an acquital. We'll see, of course.

But if you're the defendent you don't want the jury asking for clarification on anything. If they think you're innocent they usually have all the info they need by the time they go deliberate. Not currently getting that vibe.
