Dude generated so much time on that touchdown run for this team to get open. People really thought that wouldn't translate, that's basically an elite trait.

Biggest question mark will be staying healthy and putting a winning personnel in: Mahomes has Andy Reid and Spags.

That dude looks exactly like he looked in college. If he stays healthy he might put up a huge year with the weapons that he has available at his disposal.

posters here really said they shoulda kept fields and trade out of the first overall pick :picard: :mjlol:
I liked Fields a lot. They didn't put much around Fields so we can't say what he would have looked like with better players around him and a better offensive coordinator training him. So Williams has talent around him that Fields never had.

Biggest question mark is whether he can embrace getting rid of the ball quickly with a natural progression.

Pounding the air out of the ball with happy feet for 7 seconds and bailing clean pockets is a nasty habit he has to reign in. It's gonna do more harm than good if he can't balance that scale, regardless of the highlights.

There are really only a handful of players who have arms that can make those passes consistently: Mahomes, Allen, Herbert and Caleb. Dude got the arm and mobility only the elite have.

I said it back in the draft thread, drafting Caleb already opens up the playbook in ways you can't for outside only a few QB's.

He's stayed in the pocket quite a few times though.

The intentional grounding throw Caleb was an absolute statue in the pocket but nobody could get open and bailing backwards to buy more time was risky because the edge was basically collapsing behind him. Intentional grounding was probably the least risky play. You take the sack and you may get stripped/injured.
