They've (Big Red & Mahomes) have also adjusted since then, basically acknowledging that they don't have prime Kelce (although he'll still find the soft spots in a zone like no other) or prime Cheetah anymore.

His first 3 seasons, he only threw something like 51 checkdowns, and in his most recent three, he's thrown like 112+ or something like that I read. They also have a much lower explosive play rate compared to their earlier days together too.

So, I think they know that between both the horses not being the same AND Defs living in 2 High more often + gettin' more creative, he's learned what Brady learned all those years when mfs was callin' him da checkdown King/merchant & it's hard to gameplan against that when u got a mf who patient as hell unlike young QBs who get restless & do dumb shyt.

I didn't watch Montana but I've seen every other qb you listed lose playoff games off losing the trenches.

Having a good qb is still key but gotta protect them
