Are you basing this solely on him opting for surgery?
He wouldn’t be getting the surgery if he didn’t need it in the first place and if he was putting it off the entire time, then the trading team would have found out about it anyways.
He has been on the market since the summer. During the season, it was put out there they were open to a trade in November. It's Feb.

He definitely fits Bostons profile. I'm surprised Memphis didn't want to pay him
Down from 62% last season. I think he's good for them as a backup, as long as he's not shooting 3s. His 3s usage went from .4 a game to 1.6 a game, that's 25% percent of his shots compared to 5% of his shots last year. Limited offensive player, but if they use him right, he should be back around 50% from the field6’8 center shooting 41% from the field this season
