I think its just him being a bad candidate. They should’ve easily won that seat given Kemp’s performance.
Won it. Maybe.

Easily…nah. And that’s the part that is actually scaring them. Most states are becoming either or. For a Deep South state to suddenly be competitive is a huge red flag.

Look at how many terrible Republicans get elected in other nearby states. Marsha Blackburn. Tuberville in Alabama. Quality didn’t even matter.

Atlanta is attracting more and more liberals. This isn’t like Florida and it’s conservative retirement influx.

The Atlanta Metro is entirely blue now.

Regardless, if your governor is carrying the race by 8 points there is no reason for the senator sharing the ticket to lose unless you've put up an exceptionally bad candidate, regardless of the demographics change. It suggests that even Republicans had a problem with Herschel.

The senator from Alabama thought WWII was fought about socialism. Stupidity isn’t a problem in the Deep South.

Atlanta being blue is the problem is what I’m saying. You can dilute house votes through gerrymandering. Statewide those new liberal Atlanta votes still matter. There is no obvious influx of conservatives coming in to dilute it

There margin of error has decreased dramatically for statewide Republicans and is getting tighter.

Incumbents always have an advantage so if your two senators are Dems, they have the advantage now.
