I hate lists like these. they're arbitrary to the point of being meaningless. When you think of "safe" most people automatically think its measuring "crime." But once you add shyt like covid vaccination rates, natural disasters etc, it become easy to skew the results.

A city could have horrible crime...but if you add the metric of having a low earthquake rate, you can skew it to look "safer." I actually think cities or developers pay for these lists so their areas can get better press.

4 cities out of the 5 cities with the most law enforcement employees are on the top 25 for murder rates.

meanwhile LA which isn’t the top 5 for law enforcement employees has a lower murder rate than those 4 cities that are on the top 25.

Does LA and NY have the GOAT police force?

LA got rid most their Ghetto/Hood population, thats why

I figured that’s the reason

This is actually weird though, because Baltimore and ATL have the least hate crimes, while DC and Cleveland are at the bottom. Seattle, which has a very small Black population, has the most hate crimes. This might be a result of how particular cities choose to classify hate crimes.

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.

if you committed a hate crime in Seattle. Do you think they’d report it? I’m seriously asking

I don't know anything about Seattle hate crimes, but I do remember reading an article saying that even when "hate crimes" happen in some cities, they don't get reported as hate crimes so some cities can have higher or lower hate crime statistics even when the same crimes are happening in other cities. This was a long time ago so I don't have a link to the article.
