I turned it off soon after... it was a blow especially with the way Alonso was quickly taken out of the game. And then Marte getting subbed out the next inning.
At this point I'm just hoping for no break for Alonso and low severity hamstring issue for Marte - a 10-day IL stint for both of them. Dom should be coming up and then you'll have Plummer and perhaps Lee as your additional outfielders. This is when Dom needs to show his bat and his defense, this is his shot.
I'm just glad the Mets have a large division lead for now to weather this storm.

Aside from Bassitt having another bad start, I don't really care about this game. Hopefully we extend that losing streak for the Angels and maybe one of Marte/Alonso is back by then. If not, we should still get it done since the Angels have some of their heavy hitters on the IL.

Bassitt hasn't been right since McCann went down. I've noticed multiple pitchers are having communication issues with both Nido and Mazeika. They cant seem to get on the same page.
Maybe a little early on, I'd chalk a little to that but nah it doesn't feel like pitch selection. They're just not executing imo. I hope Megill comes back pitching like he has for the majority of the year. His last start before the IL stint don't count to me since it probably was him pitching with that issue.
