Shreve looking like fool's gold. I don't know why Buck keeps going to him with runners on.
Shreve needs to be designated for assignment asap. You can't give up a 3 run HR there to that kind of hitter.

Got the Phillies at home starting tomorrow, the Mets need to sweep them.
That's 1... get the next two, no BS.

I dunno about that. You def cant give up a homer to a guy like that in that moment though. I just feel like Buck needs to play the hotter hand in middle relief. Shreve was great earlier on in the season. It's nitpicking though whatever.

It would be great for us if we sweep the Phils and the Nats before the West Coast trip (LAD, LAA, SDP).

Pete Alonso is a star player.

I bashed the hell out of that Francisco Lindor contract when it happened and let me say again...it is a horrible, HORRIBLE contract. That said, Lindor is still a productive player and still plays at a borderline all-star level.

Starling Marte is alright. I don't think he's "good". But if he gets hot and can steal some bases for you, you'll live with it.

It's a shame Conforto is out for the season because they really need that kind of bat. Maybe they can try to sign him next year.

JD Davis is probably a bit unlucky and I would expect his numbers to go up a little as things normalize. That said, the guy hits way too many ground balls so there's not much upside there.

Canha is okay. I mean he gets on base. I think ideally you'd rather have Canha at DH even with his lack of raw power and find someone else to play LF and drop Davis out of the lineup altogether.

Eduardo Escobar is probably playing himself out of the league at this point.

The rough part is that there isn't any real help they can expect from the Minors. Not this season, anyway.

The Mets have a strong lead in the NL East (30-17 as of this writing), so I know it seems silly for me to be so critical of the team. But things can change quickly in this game. The sooner Scherzer and deGrom can return, the better. And in a short series, those 2 pitchers can carry any team pretty far. I still think the roster needs work though. Just spitballing here but if they could get someone like Pham or Benintendi...that would solidify the lineup a lot better.

Vientos could be a DH bat (when JD and/or Smith get flipped for something preferably bullpen)

Hopefully Baty can get hot and be an option in the second half at 3B

Mangum (probably Jankowski's replacement)

The Mets need pitching, especially bullpen help, badly. I see Dom and JD getting moved at some point to fill those gaps.
