I disagree. Hitters need opportunities to hit. If he had consistent playing time and he wasn't hitting, then you could make the case for DFAing. JD Davis, another one who can tear the cover off of the ball, doesn't play. Dom, outside of yesterday's game, had been batting poorly as well even though he was splitting time between 1B and DH.
