Since Soto is on the market, what would you guys give up in a trade to have the honor of signing him to a monster contract?

Gotta imagine everybody not named Alvarez is available in the minors. They might also have to go Nimmo or McNeil, and probably take on salary from Stras or Corbin
Call me crazy.. but I'm not parting with anything crazy like that. AND take back the Stras or Corbin salaries?

If that's what it was gonna take, I'd rather roll the dice and hope/wait for him to hit free agency.

I'd have to see a trade proposition before commenting tho.

This team cannot hit with anyone on base. The last two games yesterday should've been blowouts and same thing today. This is pathetic.

I can't stand Peterson and his constant nibbling on the outside corner. Constantly misses and falls behind when he has a top rated slider that righties can't touch.

lol at thinking we could get a deal done without Alvarez. Even with him we probably don't have the assets to get it done.

Would definitely have to give up Alvarez

Drew Smith is a candidate to get sent back down to Syracuse when May and deGrom get back. He's awful.

Incredible how the Mets played down to the competitions level these last few games. Only way they were scoring was through bases loaded walks, hit by pitches, errors, pop flies that weren't caught, balks, and wild pitches. My goodness. The all star break can't get here soon enough.

And when the Mets did get a hit, the guy gets thrown out at the plate.

:dead:

JD slowly creeping into the "no longer a major leaguer" category.

Now that the first half is over. I gotta say I really like this team and I think they should really go for it save giving away their top 2 to 3 prospects. They really just need a RP or 2 that aren't expensive. But to get the bat they need they are going to need to make the absolute right move and get someone who is worth giving up some valuable assets. But they really got to make it count, ifthey trade for someone who then struggles that would be terrible.
But I think they proved they are worth the effort from the front office to really improve their weaknesses and go for the chip.

Dom and JD turning into below replacement level players has been a shock. Trade value in the tank too.

If the Mets got the pieces I'd make the trade for Soto :manny:

Players on contract years play out of their skin. Look at Beltran in Houston, Cespedes with us in 2015.

Give me 2 years of Soto playing out of his skin for a big pay day. Probably puts ups 45 HRs each season at Citi :manny:

Catch lightning in a bottle and ride it out with Scherzer + DeGrom + Soto + Alonso + Lindor :manny:

I trade if and only if I get an assurance he signs. MLB needs to allow the trading of draft picks because the Mets had five in the first 90 that they could have packaged.
