The vast majority of dem wins in 2018 were normal ass democrats talking about normal ass local issues. Instead of focusing on issues Americans are concerned about, democrats decided to talk about the ludicrous Green New Deal, followed by various skirmishes about various other issues before immigration took all focus from everything. The debate spent next to no time talking about tariffs or the trade war - issues people in the midwest are focused on. Same with flooding.
Not saying we should ignore immigration - just put it in its proper context. Democrats need to expand beyond promising magic to voters and promising to raise taxes.
