I do find it amusing that you class-reductionists view racial identity through the same lens as rightwingers.
If Bernie were black he wouldn't have made it this far politically while being such a mediocre orator, debater, lacking charisma, and positioning himself outside of the party. He wouldn't be a Senator from lily-white Vermont and he likely wouldn't come off like a class-reductionist. I don't personally know any black leftists who do and people like Adolph Reed Jr., who is critical of identity politics, don't. Basically, many of things that turn people off about Sanders couldn't exist in his black equivalent because black people can't operate the same way as their white counterparts in this country. You'd know that if you were black... hell you'd probably know that if you came from another oppressed group.
