Jill Stein wasn't a threat to win either, but right wingers pushed her as a legitimate candidate and used her as an attack angle on other more qualified candidates with the ultimate goal of encouraging potential or would be dem voters to not turn out.Does that answer my question?

Low turnout in general is the goal for conservatives. They can't win without it.
