We might as well consider Andrew Yang for Prez too. Honestly, I dismissed him. And honestly, it was biased. But if we're holding everyone to the same standard, IMO, we got to consider him.

You guys deal in an echo chamber of your own ideals. I keep seeing on here, backed by “selected” tweets, about how everyone wants a more progressive candidate...then I go on leading news sites and discussions in LinkedIn and a lot of dem/dem leaning voters want a centrist, they’re tired of overly liberal, ID politics coastal democrats...that blue wall won’t be rebuilt on platforms that continue to put culturally divisive, special interest policies at the forefront...it’s not right, but :manny:

This is why I say this primary will be damaging, a lot of losers won’t come out and vote. Unfortunately, this is an election cycle where style might be >> substance if you’re looking to win
I don't think a competitive primary is damaging, just look at what Trump went through and it didn't affect him. I really, really don't want to rehash Hillary's campaign but she had it very easy. Chaffee and O'Malley were NPCs and Jim Webb couldn't remember his daughter's name

Bernie never attacked Hillary, contrary to 'Bernie ruining Hillary's campaign' storyline that shyt doesn't hold any weight. The toughest he went at her was to release Wall Street speeches, that's nothing compared to accusing someone's father of killing JFK. Every debate they tried to goad Bernie into attacking her but he would just stick to his "Top 1% of 1% is controlling the blah blah blah" :russ: Also contrary to the narrative that Nap runs with "Bernie Bros" did not stay at home but voted in higher percentages for Hillary than Hillary voters did for Obama. If there was actual heated debate going on people would be more engaged.

Centrist candidate would not be a good choice is because all that 'lets all get along' talk doesn't fly in today's climate and because being a centrist who doesn't really stand for anything is a big reason Hillary lost.

Clinton's baggage and entitlement I think is a bigger reason.
True, but when you look back at her campaign can you remember anything major she promised to do?

Universal preschool :gucci: Improve ACA ... improve :gucci: She'll get back to us on TPP :gucci: Equal pay :russell: LGTBQ rights :russell:Common Core :russell:

You are right a lot of Dem people want centrists though but the base of the Dem party is young and to the left. The baby boomer will be drowned out in time. Those generations have PTSD of the Reagan era and losing so badly and having to operate under his paradigm.

In which part of the country?

Hillary didn’t lose for being a centrist, she lost for not speaking to middle America whites...seemingly appealing to the wealthy portions of the party.

True, but you can speak to multiple constituents. You don't need to just pick one, you can campaign on multiple issues. A voter in Wisconsin may not give a shyt about climate change/ICE but if you promise a jobs/factory plan they'll look past it.

You're right that Hillary had many other issues and is not a good example, so it's better to look at how Beto did. He pushed heavily for Republicans and Independents and we saw how that turned out. All that campaigning basically had very little effect and would've been better on increasing Dem turnout (I'll try to find that article, it was either posted by @FAH1223 or @tru_m.a.c).
