You have propped up every non-Sanders candidate at various points from Beto to Biden and now Warren -- every time it involved a critique of Bernie. You've got me--a guy who has donated twice to Warren--defending Sanders. You don't see how that is a problem? If you like Warren then Sanders should be your clear number 2. The fact that he isn't says something.

It says I prioritize winning back the White House over anything else. I believe Biden and Warren are the two most electable candidates despite what any polls show now. The socialism label is going to eventually catch up to Bernie once the Koch money starts rolling in and the corp media starts treating him like a genuine threat. I don't want to take that risk hence my idealogical dichotomy in having Biden as my second choice to Warren. What gives you confidence that this dumb ass country will look past the socialism fear mongering and elect Bernie in the general election?

I volunteered for Beto's Senate run, so initially I was excited about him as a national candidate, sue me . I haven't said anything about him since he moved to the center on healthcare and have been one of the most fervent Warren supporters on this board. She and Bernie share the same lane and are fighting over the same voters, so idk why you get butthurt anytime I defend my candidate at the expense of Bernie.

Son just got on that stage today and said that "we don't disagree on much." What are you mad at him for? Diminishing what he did in 2016 to "Clinton hate" is embarassing and below you. If nothing else, that guy is one of the most consequential senators of this decade for making medicare for all, the green new deal, tuition-free college and being anti-war platforms a major candidate can run for. He pushed the overton window further left than any Democratic candidate in most of our lifetimes. He deserves respect for that alone.
I'm not mad at Bernie, I'm disappointed in him. I'm disappointed he didn't spend the last 3 years refining his messaging towards African Americans. He stills sounds like a babbling idiot when talking directly to the most loyal constituency of the Democratic base. Maybe this is a blindspot for him because he never considered himself part of the party? Otherwise I respect his passion for helping working people and what he's done to expose the neoliberal/corporate wing of the party. In 2016, there was an appetite for a progressive voice other than Clinton. He ran, he built a loyal base off that and has now received a big head start off of it for 2020. How is that diminishing what he did?

I mean his team is filled with COMPLETE idiots who just really don't care about messaging or strategy.

His loss.

Bernie has no path to the nomination. Black people not rocking with him, which means that once again he'll get beat in the south. And I expect the debates to help other candidates more than they help him. And when he loses again I'm sure he'll take his ball and go home...and his fans will attack whoever wins.

Dont get it twisted, its BetoGang til the casket drop

all im saying is you gotta put respect on the #ButtiBoys name, dont underestimate that movement.....
I'm not seeing it. Even CNN is calling Buttigieg out on his lack of policy detail. No one is even mentioning Beto now.

He fukked up.

Stacey Abrams saw the jux and said...yeah I'm gonna keep it state side for now.

Beto should have run for Senate.

Beto's events are well attended in Iowa and other states but he's losing key staff left and right. It's too early to count him out, I think he will be a top 4 candidate early and that's all he needs to catapult...but it's clear he didn't think this through very well. I assumed his team would be coming up with an agenda during that phase where the media was waiting for him to join the race. Instead he jumped in without an agenda, while everyone else is staking out policy ideas (albeit, mainly magical ones that will never happen).

A white dude is going to be positioned to win this. I don't think it'll be Biden for many reasons - namely he has never performed well in a primary and I expect more women to come out with stories about him. Mayor Pete is a smart dude but I'm not sure we're gonna nominate a gay dude, brehs. Can't help but think if he was straight (and perhaps married to a black chick lol) he'd be the clear front runner in a few months. But his sexuality will be an issue with some people unfortunately. That leaves Beto with an opportunity...but he has to get serious and realize standing on tables and being sexy (to women) isn't going to win this thing.

I think this is going to quickly boil down to a handful of candidates, as those who miscalculated run out of money/support shortly after Iowa. Similar to what happened in 2016 with the republicans, this is gonna turn into a 5-6 person race before getting smaller. Biden, Bernie, Beto, Harris, and Pete are clearly the top 5. Warren is trying to get in there but her fundraising is looking weak. Nobody else matters, IMO. Maybe Booker turns things around when people get to see him on the debate stage. I think those are the 5-6 and it'll shrink from there.

He’s smart in the sense of getting the task at hand done. The question is what he prioritizes. He cannot be anyone’s VP except maybe Biden. America is not voting for any combination of a person of color, woman or democratic socialist AND a gay dude. Warren won this debate BTW. Still think her cut off for forgiving debt should not be as rigid. It penalizes married couples and negates things like people who don’t come from anything and have to support family. I think forgiving 50000 to everyone wholesale makes more sense.

I mentioned in a previous comment that Warren did well. She still has an uphill battle ahead. As someone else mentioned in this thread, Buttigieg likely has a future as a Senator/Governor. He's been groomed and comes from the "right" background.
