ppl with disabilities don’t use their disabilities as a crutch.

It’s a very controversial topic among stutterers. Do u tell ppl u stutter or should u not, some think telling ppl is excusing ur behavior. Some ppl don’t think ur disability should be excused so u don’t have say shyt.

He’s spoken at the American institute for stuttering for years.

Im not saying he should talk about his own disability on there.

I was looking for information on what he would do for people with disabilities on his website in terms of policy

haven’t seen anything of merit. In saying that, he’s got the best track record of even showing up at disability conferences for decades.

so I’d take that over someone who tells an intern to post a random url link on their campaign website about their “plan”.

he’s known these ppl for way longer

Your logic has some validity to it

It would just be nice to have something on the record to hold him to

He talks a lot about working with republicans and republicans arent typically overly supportive of social security/disability (with many outright looking to cut it)

Id personally like biden to make some sort of commitment to at least protecting whats in place rather than leaving it up to question if he would concede in some sort of negotiation for something else

Stuttering isnt listed as something someone would be able to get SSDI from anyway so him going to conferences for that doesnt inspire confidence that he would go to bat for the disabled as much as bernie would.

Disability Rights

Bernie has pledged to protect and expand SSDI

I have much more trust in Bernie on that issue than I do Biden

Biden’s got a lot of accomplishments and a lot u can hold him to. One of the main ones being the only candidate to get any major legislation done ever Nationally, among other things.

(Unless u want to believe Warren got her agenda items passed with Obama taking time out of his day To call ppl and vouch for her) :mjlol:...(this comment is directed at warren plans)

Track record doesn’t mean anything anymore due to Trump Coming, it doesn’t mean shyt.

Antibiden ppl like to cherry-pick pro democrat initiatives being blocked by Biden bc he’s worked with republicans.

The only issue with that is, is that he’s never done it. :francis: Not once. It’s a hypothetical situation made up by people who want their candidate to win.

That’s not him tho, he doesn’t do it.

He voted no to Clarence Thomas becoming a Supreme Court justice .

those hypotheticals about him voting with repubs over democrats, aren’t rooted in his track record or reality.

Thats fine and good. Im not confusing him with a republican. Im pretty confident he would veto anything that takes away from disability

But would he expand the SGA cap on earnings? Spend time making policies to guide the disabled into more advantageous opportunities than whats already in place? Im not so sure.

Until he expressly states it im not going to trust him over Bernie on this issue. :hubie:

Yang is years ahead of his time with the UBI issue. This is going to be an issue that needs addressing at some point.

Yeah after we raise the minimum wage and put in rent controls so all that "free money" per month doesn't just evaporate, other things need to be addressed first.
