Bc white leftists liberals that push this rely on some of the wealthiest white communities to start the campaigning and then get the vast majority of their donations from individuals with the average net worth that is a 100-1 ratio to black net worth.

If black progressives/liberals actually get a black candidate to the forefront of a presidential race if they don’t fit “progressive” idealist fundraising framework they’re pushing, they will be seen as not a true progressive.

It’s dangerous in 3 ways

1. If a black progressive is actually pushed up by a black base. If they attempt to replicate the “true progressive fundraising method” they are depending on a community that has 4-5x less people and 100x less money. The number of ppl and the monetary donations they can possibly provide could not sustain them even at the earliest stages of a presidential campaign.

2. Any candidate that depends on the entire population in securing donations in the “true progressive fundraising method” they inevitably will need to secure a large amount of white donors and could be seen as not a true “pro black” progressive candidate by the black community

3. If black progressives accept this new “true progressive fundraising method” and a black progressive candidate depends on a mix of black donations + corporate money/rich donors, other progressive competitors will use this as showing that they’re not a true progressive candidate.

Black progressives can not accept this narrative as the new normal. It’ll only hurt black progressive candidates that come from and are supported by the black community.

we can not let this become the standard.
